Shilpa Shetty has withdrawn her petition in the Bombay High Court seeking relaxation of the Look Out Circular (LOC) issued against her, citing that her planned international trip, including a potential appearance with American influencer MrBeast, didn't materialize. The actress and her husband Raj Kundra are embroiled in a ?60 crore cheating case linked to their company, Best Deal TV Pvt Ltd, with allegations they misused funds invested by Deepak Kothari.

Court’s decision

The Bombay High Court accepted Shetty's withdrawal and will hear their LOC suspension plea on November 17. Shetty's counsel stated that they'll file a fresh application for travel permission whenever they plan to travel abroad in the future. The couple had sought permission for professional travel and a leisure trip between October and January 2026, but the court had previously indicated it would only consider their plea if they deposited the ?60 crore in question.

She was the only Indian actor invited to participate in the programme with Mr Beast, but following recent reports and the surrounding commentary, the organisers have now cancelled the plan, Mundargi told the court.

Seriousness of the restriction

The decision follows a series of court sessions over the past fortnight, during which the court voiced concerns about Shetty and her husband, Raj Kundra, traveling internationally while the investigation is ongoing.

This restriction highlights the seriousness of the ongoing investigation and the court's commitment to ensuring that all parties involved remain accessible for questioning and proceedings. The court's reservations underscore the importance of adhering to legal protocols during the investigation's progress.

History of the case

The Bombay High Court had previously denied Shilpa Shetty permission to travel abroad, citing the ongoing ?60 crore fraud investigation involving her and husband Raj Kundra. The court insisted that Shetty deposit the disputed amount or consider turning approver against Raj Kundra if she wished to travel internationally.

The court's stance stems from allegations by businessman Deepak Kothari, who claims the couple misused funds invested in their company, Best Deal TV Pvt Ltd, between 2015 and 2023. Shilpa Shetty has maintained she has no connection to the company since resigning as director in 2016, but the court remains unconvinced.

Shilpa’s plan to travel abroad

Shilpa Shetty and Raj Kundra's plans to travel abroad have hit a roadblock, with their recent plea to lift the Look Out Circular (LOC) withdrawn from the Bombay High Court. The couple had sought permission to travel for professional commitments, including a potential collaboration with MrBeast, but those plans fell through.

Their lawyer, Niranjan Mundargi, has requested an early hearing, and the court has scheduled the matter for November 17. Meanwhile, Shetty and Kundra still intend to visit Kundra's parents in Dubai and London later this year. They'll file a fresh application seeking travel permission for December 20, 2025, to January 6, 2026.
