The star will donate the proceeds from the sale of his artworks to his foundation, reports Soumyadipta Banerjee.
Salman Khan is again going through a phase. The elusive star has become a lot more forthcoming these days. After opening up about his spat with Shah Rukh Khan, Salman has now revealed that he is going to hold a public exhibition of his paintings and sketches by this December in Mumbai.
Salman has his own studio in his Bandra apartment where he spends hours sketching and painting. His close friends reveal that Salman locks himself up in the studio for hours whenever he 'doesn't want to meet anybody'. Also, he will gift his painting to only somebody he's really fond of.
What many don't know is that Salman also loves photography and carries a DSLR camera on outdoor locations. Salman confirms, "Yes, I sketch and paint whenever I have the time. Now that you ask, yes, I do photography as well."
Sources say that Salman will put up some of his selected works (both photographs and paintings) for sale and the proceeds will go towards his foundation Salman Khan Foundation. Salman's staff is already negotiating with a reputed city gallery regarding this.
Salman adds, "My exhibition will hopefully be held within two months if all goes as per schedule."
Is it true that he has 'adopted' a few girls from an orphanage and bears all their expenses? Salman confirms this but refuses to reveal the details, "Yes, through my foundation I try to help people who need support. But I would rather not talk about it."
So what's next on Salman's agenda? He says for now, it's his film Hello. The star goes on reveal the plot, "I had read the book One Night @ The Call Centre and really liked it. I play myself (a movie star) who is on a world tour in the film. I get to hear the story of six people who work at a call centre and how they happen to receive a phone call from God. It's a very gripping story. The idea of doing this excited me."
It's well-known that Salman is fond of writing too. Is he co-writing a movie script?
"Why would I co-write a script? I will write it myself than with someone else. I have written the script of my film Veer," he answers. Any plans to get in to direction? "I've no immediate plans to direct," Salman ends.
