We have been forced to put up with a lot of crap in KYM for the sake of Michi. The PIM track at the time looked like the most retarded track since it showed a man who had consummated his marriage believing that his wife who lived in a house full of people during the supposed pregnancy, still managed to deliver a child without any one's knowledge. After torturing us thus for two months, they get the baby in question to solve the problem.
Before we can rejoice they thrust another track even more retarded, the PA track where the hero not only lost his memory but also his brain cells. While these tracks were senseless, at least the show remained relatively clean. Yes, there was the mock rape. But even this was not portrayed in a yucky manner and Milind stopped himself once his purpose of scaring Prachi was done. Yes, there was this obsessive ex-lover of the hero. But even she did not behave grossly indecently. Given the underlying theme of the PIM track, it could have gone over board and bordered on obscenity but it did not. More importantly, right through all this the main character of Milsi and Prachi were maintained although each had from time to time did things which were disappointing.
Now comes the new creative team with a lot of promises to enliven the show. What do we get? For the first time obscenity is introduced in the character of Mallika who was nothing but a psycho-nymphomaniac. Now they are showing us an immoral situation where the heroine leaves her husband for his own good and lives with another man, faking to be his wife and letting him father her son. As though this was not enough, she seems to have undergone a complete makeover not only in looks but also in behaviour so much so that we cannot identify this character any more. We are not interested to know that she shares only a platonic relationship with this man. Her behaviour is just not the done thing for any married woman, let alone a character like Prachi who personifies the traditional housewife.
Modernity is welcome but not immorality and obscenity. We would rather put up with brainless tracks which are relatively clean, where the leads are two duffers who are hopelessly in love with each other and who finally find their way to each other without their image being tarnished.
