Was Shoaib Akhtar flirting with Esha Deol? And Esha too was doing her bit.....at least that's the way I felt.
Anyone feel the same?

He was definitely trying to flirt and showing off! She wasn't really interested but went along for the sake of appearances which is understandable. It was annoying to see that all guest other than her were from Pakistan. Why?

I really don't understand why all the guests; apart from Esha were from Pakistan...tag with it the fact that in saregamapa 2009, the Pakistani contestants are not eliminated even though some of them deserved to go before other contestants like Shashi Suman and Manisha. Is Zee trying to get a foothold in Pakistan and this is the way for it to show it's pro-Pakistan stance?
I am not anti-Pakistan; but it irks me that on an Indian show, all guests are from Pakistan when India has an equal amount; if not more; talent.

I agree with you Agramathura. Similarly we need to understand Abhijeet 's perspective when he vocalises his opinion and everyone thinks he's racist or anti Pakistani. Its actually not like that. He is simply highlighting a point which most people feel but don't have the guts to say it out aloud. One cannot bring diplomacy or political correctness in talent shows. It defeats the objective of judging talent on its own merit and like many things in life, we are contibuting to distorting the purity of music/dance and art which is a core element of Indian/Hindu culture and in fact not part of Islamic belief as it is considered a 'sin'. As viewers we should be able to express our feeling -just like Abhijeet - as long as the language is not abusive. There are many 'pakforum' sites which blatently abuse hindus/indians and the bollywood industry in the most abusive language that I find uncomfortable. I guess tolerance has different meanings for everyone.
Isn't this the same Shoaib that was anti- India at one time and yet is presently being treated like a long lost hero in India? It is actually MONEY that has suddenly tilted their strongest anti-India emotions. Indians have suddenly become brothers/sisters/massi etc...........

To first talk about the "pakforum" problems, if you go out to search for a racist site you will obviously find one, just type in indian forums and go to the indian defence site and the site is littered with unmentionable abuse. As for money, the same can be said for any race...I doubt if they hurled abuse at Shoaib but paid him a lot he would come. They showed him respect so he in turn showed them respect.

Honestly, you people, kids or grown ups whatever you are need to understand times are changing. Not everyone now gets a high from hurling racial abuse.

I actually find the whole thing confusing and funny, same channel was airing all sort of anti Pakistani things when Kargil war was on now when Pakistan is being seen as an opportunity of increasing viwership Zee for the reasons which are no brainer trying to promote bhai chara 😆 etc and then we read Barrack Obama saying Pakistan used funds to plant arms against India, mind it these are words coming out of mouth of a prospective US president and they can't be taken lightly, I do not understand how two things can go hand in hand, first of all there has to be peace and tranquility for cultural exchange etc. I am myself vey much in favour of a stable and prosperous Pakistan not for bhai chara, lost love etc but for the reason that you can't rest peacefully in your home when your neighbour's house is on fire.

I agree with you on this. Zee is going overboard with all this "bhai-chara" business. And that's all it is for them....business. I don't think they care a bit about the emotions or sentiments about common people.
As far as Shoaib is concerned, I didn't understand what the reason was for him to come on ESBE finals....I mean how is he even remotely related to the show??? If he comes on Zee Sports or something like that, I can understand. But a song n dance show? What was that for?

I agree with you pdesh. And in response to Mr Mortuus - one doesn't look for anti racist site. But yes one comes across them everywhere - an example is the news colums when people are invited for their viewpoints. Recently the 'fatwa' on Salman for example. One doesn't necessarily look for anti Salman issues! The trouble with people, like the media, is that they forget very easily the contradiction they make. The point we all are trying to make is that talent shows should be judged appropriately by the right skilled people based on talent. Buttering up people and sucking up to their egos isn't what it should be which it has become.
