i'm not a morning person. seriously. give me a chance and i'll wait till the very last second till i have to roll out of bed to get ready for school. or take mom on her weekend project sessions. and yet. here i am. 5-blessed-30am on a friday that i can sleep. on a super luxurious fancy matress at p's place that is cloud-light-sleep-temptation under me. and i'm awake. worse. i'm awake with a goofy grin on my face. and a laptop on my chest. staring at a set of totally wicked screen-captures that a certain mnster just had to put up to torment giddy souls with.... with a certain male face with lashes draping intense brown eyes, an unmistakable jawline that is angled and moving over a face that is being held delicately but surely in place to receive his kiss.... hmmmm! oh, well. if this is hell, sign me up for a life-time membership please... 😆
'kay, so i figured i'd rise to a challenge that maya (maya123) had recently thrown my way - she said that prem-heer were making me lose my ability to use words to describe them. she called me a wimp for using photographs instead. 😆 (well, she didn't explicitly ... but hey, i got the challenge!) so i'm not using those screen captures today. *whimper, whimper, it's killing me already!*
* little thing: hadn't seen wednesday's show. but i can see that my guess about gayatri-mom was right -- she was faking it. eeps. boy, can she fake being mean well! and i see that there was an opportunity for prem to be brilliant "will you give me my wealth, maa?" made me wish i'd seen it for a micro-second... until i got a glimpse of ratpal saying that he was ravan at the end. which made me glad i hadn't seen it. 'cause ratpal makes me barf. and the whole ram-sita-ravan makes me shake on my well-feathered bed in revulsion and a sudden burst of fear...
* little thing: gee, they're really pushing this harman-meher-are-a-couple, aren't they? i just don't feel it though. i constantly get the feeling that meher's just interested in being a good lawyer. (i mean, c'mon! who calls a potential ... er ... lover, "ji"? look at perfect heer - have we ever heard a prem ji??!! never! 🤣) and didn't they once have harman taking a call from some babe in canada? sigh. i can just see some totally predictable mess coming up rsn... sigh. *kinda bored in anticipation already...*
* little thing: it was kinda cute how gayatri-mom almost imperceptably gets meher to come to walk 'round with the arti-ka-thali. just like the little meher-laluchacha cheek-pull cheeky grin was cute.
* prem thing: 'kay, who else thought that when prem's hands settled over heer's hands (yeah, yeah, still gushing over prem-heer hand moments! 😆) over the diya, that he would lift her hands over his head as well? wouldn't that have been the "correct" way to take the dua? not to mention, it'd have been so .... 😍
* prem thing: 😆 i hope i was right in thinking that the only reason prem took over heer's prasad was 'cause he wanted to finish that incredible "feed heer prasad" moment that vitchface veera interrupted previously? although *sigh* this time the moment was interrupted by a laluchacha-gayatri-mom feeding moment! argh! and it wasn't even cute, damnit! in fact, what was laluchacha doing with that finger to mouth gesture?? eeeks!

* heer thing: heer just can't stop touching prem in public, can she?? 😍 ya, ya, i know, i know -- "how can any red-blooded girl resist", right? yadda. yadda. yadda. but have you noticed that, in return, prem's always touching .. well, everyone other than heer?! hmmm! what does that say about prem!?
(of course, this is what i thought then. how did i know that i was getting set up to be severely punished for such bad thoughts about prem by the 3rd segment of this show?? 😆)
hmm, there were lots of cute little prem-heer things in the background today, wasn't there? they seemed to be having a private party at the back of everything else, no? 😆
* little thing: just had the thought -- the creatives and the rest of the crew must be slapping themselves on the head quite a bit, no? i mean, no matter how pink heer's outfit. no matter how opposite to white they can put prem into. no matter how many people they put in the front. no matter how much in the background they are pushed. no matter how blurred they are. every little thing that prem-heer do, is the big thing in any show.
and today all i will do is laugh and helplessly accept it. today, they own me, heart-body-mind - and i'm going to be big enough to admit it. today, prem-heer, you win. today, i lose. big time. 😆
* little thing: well, it's not difficult for us to be totally enchanted by prem-heer in any case, given the embarassing things the rest of the family does! eeks, harman! even if he is the one in white - could he be any more transparent about sucking-up-to-dad than he was today!? why couldn't he have just been scary-in-black and grinning like vitchface veera was? (btw, did anyone else get the idea that veera's canines were suddenly longer and more prominent than usual? no? vas it just my imagination?? 'cause suddenly, i vanted to take a long string of garlic to bed to protect me. 😆)
although, poor harman -- laluchacha's getting back on track to be ultra meanly unforgiving to yet another son, is he? *barf! where's triv's green emoticon when i need it??* seriously, the guy should get over his "my sons are extensions of my responsiblities" trip. and his nasty habit of not forgiving and forgetting easily. that's why i just hate it when prem keeps telling people that his bauji's crusty on the outside and soft on the inside. if that's true, boy is that some thick crust! 😛
of course, that last bit where laluchacha asks harman to give him his word -- on a promise that he refuses to first tell his son about?! i mean, i was already shaking my head when laluchacha showed that old grandfather's picture to harman. remember the last time he did that to prem??
hmmm. d'you think this show is trying to tell us that it is true what they say about old dogs? that they can't learn new tricks? gaaah! seeing people making the same mistake over and over again is sooo ... dull. 😛
* little thing: preet giving heer a big thumbs up when she gets laluchacha to sing. 😊 for preet. 😲 for everyone wanting laluchacha to sing!
* little thing: the whole family suddenly being very concerned with something - anything! - that was in the exact opposite direction of laluchacha-gayatri-mom! 🤣 it might've been cliched, but it was well orchestrated and very cute. what pretty-pretty backs-of-heads the junejas have... 😆
* little thing: grumpy harman is worse than expressionless harman. man, i just wanted to shake him.
and seriously stop making meher get ancient lines to speak! that's prem-heer's job. get it through your thick skulls, oh script-writers
* big thing: oh, so this time, it's gayatri-mom setting up the little match-making dreams? *sigh* why can't parents just talk in a sensible, non-obscure way about what they want to their kids?? why can't they ever give their kids a choice, a discussion? these are grown up adults, for crying out loud. *hard sigh* i so detest parents like this. i wanted to immediately run and hug my mom for being so sensible... mom, i love you.
* prem-heer (big time big thing) thing 😆: 'kay. first things first. i was surprised at the background music. it was peppy, it was bright, it was chirpy, it was sooooo non prem-heer! usually, we get that heavily obviously romantic music -- all violen-sy and slow. this was totally different, no? and as a consequence, i was totally unprepared for what happened!
what a way to start! a shot of arms totally invading heer's privacy. from that very first shot, there was so not-a-shred-of-doubt about how masterfully prem had heer captured. and i'm persuaded that he was so masterful that one arm grabbed heer, and the other hand grabbed the thali and deposited it on the table he was standing in front of, before he capped his hand over her mouth. that hand... er. did anyone else notice how unusually long his fingers stood out against heer's face? seriously, that hand always looks best against heer's face. if anyone challenges this, i'm gonna do a post with evidence that i'm right. (challenge me, please challenge me! 😆)
and it was the sheer air of i'm-your-lord-and-master that just hit you through that first series of shots. heer looked totally out of her depth. so totally lorded over. "chor nahin, mai hoon". with pleasure written large in that hint of a smile. she has questions. he has all the answers. and like all the prem and heer moments, most of the questions and the answers are unspoken. and in all of those unspoken answers, there is more lord-and-mastery!
i think the camera work in that light setting blended perfectly with the score as he slowly back-walked heer into the wall somewhere in the middle of the room. i think that i heard a line that went "ek heer thi aur tha ek ranjha" -- omg, that was just so perfect i was dying of the pleasure of finally seeing a beautifully produced scene once again in this show. it's been soooo long since we have had one of these! beautiful...
that wall was soo far away, prem's eyes did'nt give her eyes permission to move through that long walk. you could feel the effort of her concentration to remember to breath at every step -- poor heer, no wonder she was struggling to draw breath by the time prem had her firmly captured. and oh, yes, she was firmly captured.
and that's the other thing that my own rapidly oxygen-depleting brain was struggling to register. in the two previous moments when prem made these very same moves to "get to" heer (😆 seriously. don't know what else to call it!) heer used a very simple, but very effective gesture to tell prem she couldn't handle it -- her eyes shut, she would turn her face away from the intensity of his look. (remember that seering white-hot moment of wet-white-shirt prem? yeah, like how could we forget??!)
this time, though, prem is her lord-and-master. he doesn't let her get away with it. he admires her eyes. she shyly demonstrates exactly why he should love it. he adores her hair with his eyes, with his fingers. and when she can't handle the heat of that look, she tries to do it to him again, hide from him again -- eyelashes drape eyes shut, turning her face away. but this time, he's got her -- those fingers just refuse to let her off that easily anymore. it's like he has given her two chances earlier to get used to his passion, to learn how to deal with it. haven't learnt yet? too bad, take it as ... prem's lover should. the insistence of his fingers that she should face him - insistent, layered over just a hint of brutal . finger-tip gentle, but too firm to give her her own choice. suddenly, i wondered if he could ever hurt heer physically - the gestures were that intense. prem....!!
and heer - heer! - shows him that she was just testing him. he moves her face back to his, and she smiles this time around - that oh so slight smile. but it's enough - to tell him she has seen his desire, she has felt his insistence, and she is ready for it too. was there anything in that shots that made your heart blaze like the sound of that last "prem"? if it had been anyone else, any other couple, it probably would've been a shout. but this is prem. this is his heer. her invitation for a kiss is softer than the touch of his eyes on her face, and as insistent as his fingers holding her face to receive his kiss. in that last moment, it looked more like it was prem being compelled to kiss her, like he had no other choice. his voice saying "tumhare muskan sey zyaada...." ending in a strangled "..mujhe..."
(why am i suddenly warm and bothered in my bed? it's still the same cloudy and chilly room that i was in a while ago.... damn these two!)
so it was almost a relief to hear the strangled "unddey" just when all my faculties were beginning to shut down. i totally loved it! that was brilliant! the equivalent of a cold-water shower in a prem who started babbling about -- of all the inexplicable things! -- eggs! why eggs??!! damnit! i want to know!! 🤣 which guy is thinking eggs when he is drenched in hormonal craziness? omg! did i just answer my own question??!!!! noooooo!!!!! 🤣
what i liked: my brain was just beginning to shut down. not totally shut down like that wet-white-shirt-drenched-in-blue-light-with-water-drenched-eyelashes prem-heer moment. 😆 the comic perfection of a prem rhyming about eggs at the speed of a bullet train! my prem-crazy pal was panting, but i was on the floor, totally loving the show like i haven't loved it in a long time.
* heer thing: yea, she gets it today. 'cause it's always been prem as lord-and-master throughout the show, y'know? and i've been waiting and waiting to see heer pay him back, love him back, take care of him back like he has done for her. this week has been quite full of bits and pieces of that. and i do hope we get to see heer take it all the way. i've always loved heer for being the owner of prem's heart-body-soul. i love seeing it on screen. she laughs at him.
and he hardly notices, 'cause he is sooo put off that his lord-and-master act has crumbled to no-kiss in front of a little girl's curiousity -- btw, brilliant little girl! somehow expressionless fit her perfectly, unlike the adults who usually do it on this show. 😆 loved i'm-sulking prem. and it's such a guy thing that he can sulk big time.
heer gives him back everything that he has put her through. i loved the camera work in putting this segment together and i think this is some very nice editing also -- finally! there are obviously at least two takes mixed in this: one shows heer's face, where the dark-light shadows on prem's face are just brilliant. okay, okay, they make him look gorgeous - 'cause he's in my favourite eyelashes-down-looking-at-heer pose. and her face is glowing in that warm light. the other take shows prem's face. here they look like they've used more light in the scene. just to show how sulky guys can get. and how small and sweet heer's hands are against prem's chest. btw, is that kurta one size too small for the breadth of those shoulders?? 😆
her words he knows. he's sulking and can ignore it. but her hands on his chest pushing him to the wall? (see! the hands again!) her fingers on his face? and last, but apparently, never the least 😆 her breath on his mouth? no matter how sulky he is -- "this place is filled with kids, one of them is bound to come" 😆 (although it was much funnier in hindi.) -- in the end, he is beginning to get seduced. like so:

and unlike most i'm-gonna-sulk-forever guys, prem's next "sulk" is partly just an act. he's back to being lord-and-master, punishing heer for that wonderful full laugh of hers. this one: (love the way his eyes are shut and his jaw is clenched here when he realises that he's not getting his kiss after all. love the way her eyes puff up when she laughs fully.)
*big thing: of all the shows that i've seen so far, there's none that has "gotten to me" like this one. said it before, saying it again: everytime i think they've done the best they can, they surprise me. and the weird thing is that i keep saying this. like i have to tell myself that i'm being weird or something.
i thought this was the most brilliant moment i've seen before because of the sheer complexity of getting my brain fogged and then wiping it clear and having it bright with laughter in the verynext moment. i've never been touched like this before - in any hindi tv show. most similar situations are more cliched, more hackneyed that this. in this segment, right from the arms around the waist to the last moment when he moves away from heer, hiding a smile with her running behind him to make up, it was brilliant. it keeps the flame of my faith in this ridiculous show alive.
for this moment, i will watch whatever poop they can come up with in the meher-harman story. maybe even ... ugh ... a ratpal ravan track. *barf, barf, barf*

heer gives him back everything that he has put her through. i loved the camera work in putting this segment together and i think this is some very nice editing also -- finally! there are obviously at least two takes mixed in this: one shows heer's face, where the dark-light shadows on prem's face are just brilliant. okay, okay, they make him look gorgeous - 'cause he's in my favourite eyelashes-down-looking-at-heer pose. and her face is glowing in that warm light. the other take shows prem's face. here they look like they've used more light in the scene. just to show how sulky guys can get. and how small and sweet heer's hands are against prem's chest. btw, is that kurta one size too small for the breadth of those shoulders?? 😆
her words he knows. he's sulking and can ignore it. but her hands on his chest pushing him to the wall? (see! the hands again!) her fingers on his face? and last, but apparently, never the least 😆 her breath on his mouth? no matter how sulky he is -- "this place is filled with kids, one of them is bound to come" 😆 (although it was much funnier in hindi.) -- in the end, he is beginning to get seduced. like so:

and unlike most i'm-gonna-sulk-forever guys, prem's next "sulk" is partly just an act. he's back to being lord-and-master, punishing heer for that wonderful full laugh of hers. this one: (love the way his eyes are shut and his jaw is clenched here when he realises that he's not getting his kiss after all. love the way her eyes puff up when she laughs fully.)
*big thing: of all the shows that i've seen so far, there's none that has "gotten to me" like this one. said it before, saying it again: everytime i think they've done the best they can, they surprise me. and the weird thing is that i keep saying this. like i have to tell myself that i'm being weird or something.
i thought this was the most brilliant moment i've seen before because of the sheer complexity of getting my brain fogged and then wiping it clear and having it bright with laughter in the verynext moment. i've never been touched like this before - in any hindi tv show. most similar situations are more cliched, more hackneyed that this. in this segment, right from the arms around the waist to the last moment when he moves away from heer, hiding a smile with her running behind him to make up, it was brilliant. it keeps the flame of my faith in this ridiculous show alive.
for this moment, i will watch whatever poop they can come up with in the meher-harman story. maybe even ... ugh ... a ratpal ravan track. *barf, barf, barf*
sigh. i can hear my pal beginning to stir outside my door. i've taken two hours to write this! and i didn't take more than 20 min.. no, 40 min... um.. mebbe one hour? selecting exactly which pictures to use here. 😆 oh well. i hope raksha gets to read this. i'd planned to put this up last night after the show. but she'd said that i was never on when she was -- this is my experimenting at finding when she is on and i can get her to write comments on the bt,lt like in the "ole days".
gee, isn't it nice that we finally have "old days" and "new days" that are just great in this show?? i'm soo lovin' it.
(and no, i'm not stoooopid enough to put up a highlight of the episode today. 'nuff said already! 😆)
