Vishal Singh on his desire for a better India…
by Vidhya Krishnan

We caught up with the fun loving Vishal Singh on our new column concept pertaining to a social cause that he would fight for and he kick started with a little silence…

And the silence, we thought, was because he didn't have anything to say but it was the other way round…he had lots to say but was confused with what and where to start with.
I have a lot of things to say and I can go on and on speaking on this topic but not sure if you and I have the time for it.
Starting with Mumbai, I wish the city to be a clean and organized place. It is sad that Mumbai lacks greenery and the children here hardly have any parks or playgrounds to play. We need to think of planting trees to make the place more natural.

Life here is nothing but traffic..our living is getting affected and we need to give a thought to it. We have bad roads, huge traffic causing pollution. We do obey traffic rules to some extent but there is no lane discipline. And that needs to be strictly followed. We need to bring about changes in our lane system as that of Singapore.

There is some awareness that is growing and that is evident in the cleanliness in the beaches that is brought about. I give my full credit to that. But we need to pull our socks and speed up.

Changes have to be done at a macro level. In our country, each and everyone must be educated. There are huge job opportunities but education is a must. I wish to bring about much more hospitals. Maintenance of a neat and tidy environment is essential. We need to give a sensible thought to our poverty and how to bring it under control. The major step is our huge population issues. There has to be something strictly done to keep it under control. We need to give it a thought and the rest will fall in place as all are inter-related.

Such thoughts needs to dawn in each and everyone. I hope we could make some difference to our society and be sufficient enough. I wish to see some changes in the good sense but we as citizens cannot do much beyond a level. It is the people in power who can bring things under control for good. Hope some major revolution happens for good.

He did want to go on and say loads but unfortunately it was practically not possible with his list as he put it across. He prefers to seeing some positive changes on what he mentioned and thereon moving further slowly but steadily.

With so many ideas bouncing off, we couldn't help but wonder, if Vishal Singh would be the power to be reckoned within the next election?
