Chapter Two
-Too much to take
Heer was traumatized after hearing KT utter those very words; how could Lakshya be dead? He was with her. "What are you talking about KT? Lakshya is alive.. when was he dead?" Heer asked. "Long story short; we met at a friend's wedding and started seeing each other.. it was one day per week, but soon it turned to every day. We fell in love and decided to get married. Since you two didn't have any parents and neither did I, we decided to keep it just some of our close personal friends attending. But on the day, he never showed up; his friends said he had met an accident. & no, Yamini is not Lakshya's daughter. It's one of my friends' daughet; she left her with me, even I don't know why! Since that day, she was my daughter.." KT replied, with huge sorrow.

"How can this be?" Prem asked. "I don't know.. I thought she hated me, that's why she never showed up at our wedding day! and now, I assume she's married to the man she loved. She betrayed me!" Lakshya spoke angrily, yet with tears rolling down his cheeks. "Laksh, just let it go yaar. Why fall back upon those peices that hurt you so much? Just stop it!" Prem replied. "Yeah," he sniffs. "let's talk about something else I guess.." he adds. "Oh, so, hey! How was your sister's wedding? Sorry I was gonna come, but my car stopped, and well-- ironically; I met a woman dressed in a bridal gown. I mean, how ironic is that?" Prem was amazed. "Was she near a tree, with another man standing beside her?" Lakshya suddenly asked. "Yeaahh.. I'm pretty sure, that was me, dude." Prem sarcastically said. "You were with my sister?" Lakshya got up asking. "Heer is your sister?" Prem asked, surprizingly. "Yes!" Laksh said. "WHAT?!" Prem shot up.

"Why didn't Lakshya ever tell me this? I gotta straighten this up with him." Heer stood up, angrily. "Nahi, Heer. Tum aisa kuch mat karna.. please." KT insisted. "Par kyun, KT? Mai apne bhaiyaa se itna pyaar karti hoon, par yeh sab sunne ke baad.. mujhe samajh nahi aa raha hai ki mai kya karu.. apne bhai ka saath doon, ya tumhara?" Heer said in a high-pitched voice. KT didn't know what to say. Heer was frustrated.

"It's Heer." Laksh said looking at his cell phone ring. He let the phone ring and go to his voice mail. "I gotta head home, Prem. I'll meet you tomorrow." Lakshya said with a lost feeling. "Take care, yaar. I'll pick you up early in the morning for a jog. Be ready by 6 a.m." Prem replied, planting his hand on Laksh's shoulder. Lakshya nodded and slowly walked out of the appartment.

Heer barged in Lakshya's room, turning on his lights. She found him sleeping, curled up in the blanket. Should I wake him up and talk to him about KT? But that'll be like suspecting, I've never suspected him before. SHould I trust KT -- my best friend, or my only family member -- my brother? Heer thought to herself. No, it won't be right to jump to any conclusions just yet. She turned off the lights and silently closed the door and walked away. Lakshya opened his eyes, and sat on the bed, turning on the lamp beside his bed. I have to talk to KT. I don't know how I will, but I have to. I'll have to ask Heer for her help. Lakshya thought, facing himself in the mirror. He touched his face and looked sick. No, I can't keep this secret from Heer any longer. She probably knows about it from KT. I have to go talk to her right now. he walked out of his room.

Why did you do this to me, Laksh? Why! Why, WHY! I always loved you, but you decieved me. I won't accuse you for not loving me, I know you still love me, and I still love you too. But why did you have to come back in my life after all these years, brining back all the scars and wounds, scratching them all over my heart again? I knew coming back to Mumbai, India was a bad choice. I knew it'd compell me to remember you all over again. KT sobbed.

After telling Heer the one-sided truth, she tried to fit the puzzle peices together. She knew that would only be possible if Lakshya and KT met and solved things out. Three days had passed by, where neither KT called, nor did Lakshya speak, he mostly stayed out all the time with Prem, leaving Heer wondering what could've happened. Finally, she invites KT over, telling her Lakshya won't be there, and makes Lakshya stay home anyways. Of-course it wasa typical plan, but would it work?
