| You guys have loved me for my frankness and I thank you for being supportive of me all throughout. Many people asked me the question would you be a little less rude this time around? I dont think so! I feel, the truth is the truth, no matter how harsh it maybe. When I was 17-18 and struggling to be a music composer, I used to go from one producers office to the other. There have been times I didnt eat during the day, as I would have no money. I have seen people walk past me and not even saying a hello. I have seen failure and rejections as a struggler. But I took all of that in high spirits. I responded to the same people and made a mark with my music. The attitude in me has helped me survive. I am the kind of a person who takes on the world with I-care-a-damn attitude. I believe talent sticks out like a sore thumb. So if you have it, flaunt it! With Indian Idol Series 2, we have a more difficult task to achieve. Benchmarks for the show have been set last year and we all know they are pretty high. People saw the craze, the madness and the ecstasy that preceded the crowning of Abhijeet Sawant as the first Indian Idol. This time participants are more prepared, thoroughly rehearsed and more confident of themselves. But for me, the choice is not only about who is well prepared and who is not, but it is about finding a voice that doesnt resemble any of the existing voices in the industry and a personality with loads of chilled-out attitude. My Indian Idol would be smart but not excessively confident, stylish and graced with an exceptional voice. And I am confident that this time its going to be a girl. Someone who has the looks of Julia Roberts and a voice of Christina Aguilera! My eyes and ears are looking for this lethal combination and I am sure even you are looking for that next Indian Idol. |
