WOMEN'S EQUALITY DAY

"Women share with men the need for personal success, even the taste of power, and no longer are we willing to satisfy those needs through the achievements of surrogates, whether husbands, children, or merely role models."

Lots have been said, lots have been done,today women is on par with men, they have the equality and have the SAME job opportunities, with same salary as men... though a healthy debate has been there over this issue as some feel that yes women do have samerather better job opportunities and good salary but some also have an exact opposite reply...

What do you think are women indeed treated as Men are in todays "corporate society" or still there are certain untold obstacles in their journey!!

yaah women hve acheive a loads in dere life no doubt but still dey hve nt reach 2 d actual level where dey hve n need 2 b

Dere r still many field where women need 2 grow...

stil dere r many ppl who thnk women r nthin just a care taker of dem... i hope dey understand d ryt thnk in dere life...

I agree many places women are been degraded professionally even today!! In terms of earning there r jobs where they prefer men over female thats highly shocking !!

Yaah i do agree.....dey all use d terms dat all Men n Women r equal. but in reality dey just want 2 compare men n women.... ven d actual scenerio cum

women are not treated equally period. take it in home or outside.

prime example is democraic primaries. and Hillary Clinton.

She is far more experienced than Obama but still she lost because she is a woman. It is truly a shame.

If this is a scenarion in western world. what can we say about others.

Women are humiliated at home by their better halfs and children day in day out. I am witness to this and it burns me. I have seen women who can and who are doing everything better than their hubys and are still ridiculed and belittle.

It makes me so angry. When will this male dominated world change?

we women are the one's who gives birth and shape the new generation. We train tomorrow's leaders, doctors engineers, scientists, craftmensand yet we are being treated like a 2nd class citizens and are told we are not good enough.😡 arghhhhhhh

Very thought provoking topic !!!

In corporate sector, women can easily climb upto Middle level....then the glass ceiling hits them. No wonder only 2% women are in Top Management.

But we have to analyse one thing clearly.

1) Are women not given chance? or

2) Are women not taking this chance to go up the corporate ladder coz it affects their family life?

I personally think that 2 is case most of the time ........

But where women is eager to take up the responsibility and is discriminated coz of gender is wrong and is happening world over.....

as per thier stand is considered
i agree to whatever shagun and most of u said that Women do get higher salary n stuff than men, but not everywhere and at all fields.
I have still seen places where the women is actually not let to move ahead by her own male collegues, at times female too. But most of them are male .... as they do not want the women to actually take a place above him.

May b not in all cases but there are cases.
But would also say that there are cases where Men and Women are treated equally and also given equal status.
For Eg. Our President is a Women, which makes me feel that yes ppl have changed and thier thinking is modernising with the coming times😳

So its basically a mixed World where we have good things as well as bad things.

But am sure soon things will change and women and Men will b treated equally socially too😳

Happy Wmns Day! To all the ladies!

I think ladies are on the same level, in my job (said to be a male dominated industry because its international), there are more ladies than men i think...

In asia (east) there are so many ladies in our divisions, or head of Asia is even a lady...

Also I think it was cool that there are Ladies in government who hold top positions in the world, i.e. India, Germany (PM was a lady), and the US (Hiliary Clinton ran for president)...

we live in diff times now....looking at ladies differently could bring a largeee law suit.....

is equality measured only by success in climbing the corporate ladder, what about in the homes, what about being treated equal by father, brother or husbands. There are lots of girls and women out there who despite being educated have to do as the head of the family says. And the worst is soaps...where a women is never depicted as an equal partner in a marriage.

A long way to go to change that in the world.
