It seems the cops too are watching it closely – but for purely professional reasons. Following Wednesday's episode where gangster Abu Salem's girlfriend Monica Bedi was shown sharing some details of her personal life, the crime branch has decided to ask for unedited tapes from the show.
"If, in her utterances (through the show) she mentions anything which sheds light on any criminal activity or is of any evidential value, the same will be legally examined," said joint commissioner (Crime Branch) Rakesh Maria. "For this purpose, the police will seek both aired footage and that which has been edited out," he added. Mumbai police has in the past interrogated Monica several times on her relationship with Salem, but without much success.
The starlet was deported from Portugal along with Abu Salem in November 2005 and later faced trial in a case of possessing a forged passport in Bhopal, in which she was acquitted, and is at present out on bail for a similar case in Hyderabad.

In November 2007, the Supreme Court granted Monica Bedi permission to restart her film career after she submitted that the bail condition restraining her from leaving Hoshiyarpur was acting as a hindrance to her career.
Since then she has been unsuccessfully trying to make a comeback in the movies and Bigg Boss 2 is her first major break. Salem, for his part is awaiting trial in two murder cases.
Police believe that Monica, who spent nearly four years with Salem while he was on the run from cops, might confide some details about her life with the gangster during the reality show where she is shacked up in a bungalow with 13 other contestants. Secret cameras record every moment of their stay in the bungalow.
On Wednesday, Monica was caught on tape sharing the trauma her parents had undergone and how she herself has been coping with life. Rakesh Maria, while watching this footage on news channels, came up with the idea of procuring Monica's uncensored tapes from the producers of the show, Endemol.
