if she really did have the guts then why didnt she actually say to their face instead of hiding-out and not showing up, which just caused her to look shameful and snotty.

Sounds like you are not from India and hence don't understand our customs and values. Touching elder's feet doesn't mean that you are their slave. It simply shows your respect for the person and admire them.

It is wrong to judge Indians like that especially when your only source of knowledge about a country are some bad shows/internet videos or uneducated comments from some people.

I totally agree with you that the show is biased. However, I felt bad about some of your other comments.

Dude, I don't mind touching my parents' or grand parents' feet and taking blessings from them. However, touching the feet of celebrities or politicians or sportsmen is creepy, don't you think? I mean, if that's not boot licking I don't know what is.
Tell me one thing - why is that only the poor address the rich as "sir" or "madam"? Why is that only the person who is supposedly on a lower rung in the social ladder bows before those deemed to be on an upper rung in the social ladder? Just because Abhijeet is a little more successful than say Musarrat as of today or just because Ahmed is a little more successful than say Abhishek as of today, should they keep bowing infront of those people? That to you is culture? If tomorrow, Musarrat becomes a great music composer like Rehman, don't you think Abhijeet will start addessing Musarrat as "sir"? I will bet you a million bucks, that he will. Where did your culture go then? Don't you think your definitions of culture and values are dynamically changing because of social status and social standings and not because of anything else?
Let me ask you one more thing - if you are 25 years of age and you have a 50 year old maid in your house would you touch his/her feet? Answer me honestly.
The point I was trying to make in my original post is that Sanober stood up for her dignity and her talent. That is exactly what India needs. Not somebody who takes crap and still puts on a fake smile in front of the camera, bows down to the judges, thanks profusely and vinamrata se goes back to their seat.

Not sure if you have watched the previous shows. Abhijeet and Ahmed are not letting any contestant open their mouths. They are literally shutting down everybody who has a difference of opinion or whoever doesn't agree with the judging.
She did say a couple of things on their faces like you "challenged" her to but then Abhijeet took hold of the mike and called her immature among other things. This coming from a married man who is hopelessly in love with a 16 year old. The same thing happened with Rajashree and Amit Paul as well.
Watch all the shows and then come back with your best argument.

Oh man, that statement is really hilarious! I'm seriously crackin' up! Yeah, Abhijeet is giving Sanchita all the cookies, which is pretty chill, however, he's not leaving any for the other contestants.

AFAIK you are from Andhra Pradesh, I remember your posts in C2005 like public voting is fine, currently based in US right..?

What you have said about touching feet and other things are correct but that is a result of unfair system, corruption and other factors (in Office) which makes sure that you need to be in good books of your seniors. This is a part and parcel of a developing nation.

Once things are fairer like a developed western country where wages for an hour is fixed (you cant pay less than that), promotion is trasnparent these thing will go away, but even then I will no problen in touching feet of my parents...
and yes aapko dekh kar ek kahawat yaad aati hai:
kauwa chala hans ki chaal langda kar thoda thoda......and the rest you know.

Repeatedly members are now being asked not to get into personal attack and name calling for anyone. But few just don't seem to be taking this into account while making posts.

Topic is being closed and members who broke rules now would face stringent actions.
