Ah, it's Anu ;) Really short compared to the username xD.
I haven't read Vampire diaries but it sounds really interesting. I'll make sure to get a copy on my next trip to the book store. Have you read Vampire Chronicles by Anne Rice? They're really good ;) I don't think Twilight is, per say, stolen but more like a wishfulfilment book the author whipped up in 20 minutes. I've heard some girls crossed out Bella's name in Twilight and replaced it with their name just so they could fantasize properly which gives further evidence that Twilight is really meant as a wishfulfilment book. Furthermore, the fact that Bella's appearance is never fully explained "to make it easier for girls to step into [her] shoes" goes to add as more proof.
I think Edward is the opposite of what Meyer's husband is :P It's just a theory since I'm not a psychologist but I really think that Edward epitomizes what Meyer wishes her husband would be. I think they call it repressed dreams or something. Not sure. But most definitely, Meyer has inserted parts of herself into Bella and what she wishes was an ideal man in Edward. She made the biggest mistake a newbie author makes. She let her Ego get the best of her and therefore, heavily inserted parts of herself in the text. Ever wondered how close to home her description of Bella is? [/quote]

Well, I think Edward wasn't Stephenie's husband in Twilight but specially in the pregnancy part I feel she just told the story of her own experience having a child and there her husband got mixed with Edward's character and it ruined it.
But I agree with you that her own personality her own ego did interfered with her character...
