But the actors, who on Ekta's instructions are working out two hours a day, feel that the sub-standard food served on the sets is unhealthy and not suitable for their diet.
"The food is rich in oil and high in calorie. If we are required to look fit, then it's important that we eat the right food," says our source. We spoke to Chetan Hansraj who plays Duryodhan in the show. "We've put in a request to give us better quality of food. I'm sure the creative heads are looking into it."
The guy who is a health freak says that a good work out and a decent diet is what results in a great body. Apart from Chetan, his co-star Aryan Vaid too is facing a similar problem. "I carry my food from home. I don't trust anyone when it comes to food. Look, I sweat it out in the gym to look lean; I can't afford to ruin it all by wrong food habits."
Another story that's making the round is that producer Ekta Kapoor is planning to make a gym within the premise of the sets of Mahabharat . The request has been passed on to the producer on popular demand. Since most actors put in 12 to 15 hours a day, they hardly get time to work out in the gym. "We're still considering that," says Ekta. If this comes through, Balaji will become the first production house to keep a check on the calorie intake of its actors.
