Katrina Kaif's life is a mixed bag. Professionally, she is at top of the pack, with all her recent films being big hits. However, on the personal front there has been a lot of brouhaha, including reports of her fights and discord with Salman Khan and the alleged romantic liaison with the married Akshay Kumar.
More recently, she has been in news after Salman and Shah Rukh fought at her 24th birthday party on July 16. She was obviously very upset, even though the same night Salman reportedly proposed to her. Subsequently there have even been stories about her becoming impatient with Sallu's ways, mainly his drinking, and having second thoughts about their relationship.
However, with Singh is Kinng releasing next week, Katrina has reason to cheer. After all, the film is riding on extremely promising pre-release reports.
Masala.com asked Katrina a few questions, and yes we did bring up Salman Khan.

Your next film Singh is Kinng is an action film. What is a girl like you doing in a film like that?
I have some good scenes in the film, but then I am there to add romance to the film. I also have some good action scenes which you have to see to understand.
Why is that you are never paired opposite anyone but Akshay Kumar or Salman Khan?
I was with Salman in Maine Pyar Kyun Kiya. But he doesn't get me in the end. I did four films with Akshay out of which two - Welcome and Namastey London - have been hits and the third, Singh is Kinng, seems good enough to be one more. In Apne, I was with Bobby Deol, in Partner I was with Govinda, but everybody thought I was Salman's love interest. That's not my fault. Now I have films with Ranbir and others too.
What about SRK or Aamir?
Shah Rukh Khan does one film a year and Aamir Khan does one in three years. So it gets difficult to do films with them. I cannot be as selective as they are.
Your pairing with Akshay seems to be too good. It didn't start very well with Humko Deewana Kar Gaye?
Yeah, the film only did average business, I am told. The release of the film could have been at the wrong time perhaps. Or maybe the script wasn't acceptable. It could have been anything. I am not the judge for that.
Do you think, you can do a hat-trick with Akshay this time?
I want to. I really hope so. But only God can tell whether it will be possible.
But your pairing with Akshay has given rise to a lot of stories too?
How can I stop these people from making up stories? If two people work together and look good together on screen, it has nothing to do with off screen chemistry. We are good friends.
What about Salman Khan then. What is he?
Well, he is a very good friend.
What was that fight between Salman and Shah Rukh on your birthday all about?
I don't want to discuss that story now at this forum.
But what about that story that Akshay and you were getting too close at an IPL match? Did that affect you?
It did. It was such a harmless thing that was blown out for proportion. The picture was taken from an angle which was weird and everyone made up stories. Akshay is a good co-star and he is a married man too. You guys should leave him alone too.
You are said to be very beautiful. Are you conscious of it?
What a silly question! I never felt I am beautiful. My folks always treated me like an ordinary girl and I too believe I am as ordinary as other girls.
Among your contemporaries, who do you think is the sexiest?
Kareena Kapoor has a great personality. I also find Madhuri Dixit a complete package. She is talented and very good looking. She is blessed with everything.
When do you think you look the most beautiful?
I think I look the most beautiful without any make-up. I just wait to take my make-up off after a shooting.
How much care goes into maintaining your looks?
Oh! I am so careless and lazy when it comes to maintaining myself. My mom always reminds me to take care of myself and look my best.
How have you maintained your body?
It's God's blessings to me. He's been very kind to me. Recently I have started doing yoga.
So what is a day off like for you?
Well, I haven't had one in a long time. I have been working round the clock, and haven't had any time to just laze around. But this Christmas I will go home to celebrate with my family. I am really looking forward to taking a break.
