July 30, 2008 Written Update
Laxmi screams seeing Karan's flat lined monitor and the entire family rushes to the room. The doc comes there and checks on Karan, and announces to the family that he has died. The entire family is shocked. Menka leaves the room, feeling completely guilty. Rasik comes there and she tells him it feels wrong to have taken the life of an innocent man to keep their secret.
Later, the Garodias reach home and Laxmi is in her room. She removes her bangles, bindi, and sindoor telling herself that she is a widow now. Niyati, Sav, Gauri, Saras watch in sorrow.
Karan's mom arrives for the funeral and is grief-stricken at Karan's death. Sav and the rest come there and tell Surya that Laxmi is in a state of shock and is not able to believe Karan has passed away. Just then they see Laxmi dressed in white walking in. She walks over to Karan's body and complains that the flowers kept are not his favorite kind, etc. Surya screams at Laxmi and tells her that Karan has died. She tells him that she knows… and goes to sit by Karan's side and asks the pundit to begin the funeral.
They reach the cremation ground, and at the last second before Surya lights the pyre on fire... Laxmi screams out and runs to Karan. She cries and asks why he left her, and that he had promised to be with her through everything. Yuvraj comes there and consoles her. Everyone holds her back as Surya lights the pyre. Laxmi breaks down in tears. [Amazing acting by Gunjan in this scene, it really brings tears to your eyes] Epi ends.
Precap: The old lady [midwife] is telling Rasik that she sent a letter to Karan revealing the truth! [looks like she didn't die after all…]
