I Always Wanted To Play An Ordinary Man.

Why did you select 'Aamir' to be your debut film?

When I first read the script of Aamir I felt that this is the film that I wanted to do. Of course unlike any other actor I also had thought of making a debut with a lover boy kind of role but when this script came to me I didn't even felt like giving it a second thought. I always wanted to play an ordinary man but never got the chance even on small screen so this film made my dream come true.

You always shared a romantic actor image on small screen which gained you an enormous female fan following but in this film you portray a completely different character?

Well my female fans should feel lucky that I am back that too on a big screen but yes its true that I don't have any female lead paired opposite me in the film so I am not romancing on screen. But am sure that they will love my character in the film as they will see me in a completely natural shade.

Did the script demand any special look?

Rajkumar Gupta was always happy with whatever I did. The script didn't demand 6 feet 5 inches height and a tough body with six pack abs but it only demanded an ordinary man whom we can relate to. Any man walking along the roadside should be able to relate himself with my character and so Rajkumar always advised me to be as simple as I could be and should look as natural as a common man.

There was a special screening for your dear friend Amna Sharif few days before so what was her reaction and her comment when she saw the film?

Amna is a very close friend as I started my first debut on small screen with her and now when I am making my big screen debut it's very much essential that she should see it first. After watching the whole film Amna was quite shocked and she just asked 'was it you whom I just saw on screen?' 'I never imagined that Rajeev could act so simply and so well.' Those comments were really precious and morale boosting for me.

As this movie is very simple what kind of music dose it has?

The music is absolutely flowing with the film and there nothing added or extra in it. There are in all five songs which include a rock, a sufi song, a slow track, and the title track. If you ask me my favourite I cannot just stop on, one every song has turned up so beautiful that each one of them has touched my heart. They are just amazing.
