Plagiarism or not is an eternal topic which would never die. Now what are your comments on following:

1.gore gore (Samadhi music by C Ramachandran) is inspired by Edmundo Ros, 'Chico chico'

2. Kayee din se mujhe [Akhiyon ke jharokon se] <TC> Composer: Ravindra Jain Inspired by Mozart's 40th Symphony, Movement 3 Listen to Kayee din se mujhe | Mozart's 40th Sym. Mt. 3

3. Aaja zara [Ek Jhalak] <TC> Composer: Hemant Kumar Lifted from Perez Prado's Cherry pink and apple blossom white. Listen to Aaja zara | Cherry pink and apple blossom white Ditto!

4.Babaloo [Jhumroo (1961)] <TC> Composer: Kishore Kumar Inspired by The Champs' 1957 smash hit, 'Tequila' Listen to Babaloo | Tequila

5.Itna Na Mujhse Tu [Film: Chaya] <TC> From Mozart's 40th symphony. Inspired! or copied…!

I was watching a Pancham ( has composed for 300 movies nearly) based show sometime back organised by Euphony in which experts like Ankush Chinchikar, V Nerularkar (auhtor of biography on Pancham), Usha Uthup and others were present. Now about usha Uthup, in the beginning she made it clear that while she hasn't sung many tunes of Pancham she spent quite a lot of time in his studio talking about music.

About pancham they said that Pancham had listened to so much of music that often when he wrote it he couldn't remember which source was it coming from, a raaga, a tune he came across in his dreams, an English tune or even his father's tune…!

Bhanu Gupta the ace guitarist told me that when he met pancaham for the first time he was asked to play some original piece and he played something he had composed. Nearly 8 years after this incidence when Pancham was composing songs for Samundar he was playing the same tune as opening notes on 12 string guitar for the song ye kori kanwari karari nazar which Bhanu had played many years back, when they told Pancham this is Bhanu's tune he told innocently he doesn't remember the source…!!

My Q here is

1. what is difference between plagiarism and inspiration

2. what differentiates composers like Pancham from (de)composer Pritam

3. If everyone has lifted right from naushad to Pritam and Himesh then why only Himesh is punched and naushad saab get sugar coated treatment..?

I hope God will forgive me for putting the legends and Himesh in one cradle..! I don't mean it but this will prove some points as discussion unfolds.

No difference my friend. Nazariya kuchh alag. All subjective.

If one is Pancham's supporter he/she will see it as inspiration and if one dislikes Himesh he/she will see it as Plagiarism 😳
