Are NRIs more patriotic about India?

Do the NRIs among you feel the same? If so, why? How did it start? What do you to express it?

I have become more patriotic abt India since I started living in the USA> This has been due to a number of reasons:

I was inspired by American patriotism. In India it is unfashionable to be patriotic other than during a cricket match.

I realised that although Western religions esp Christianity have alot of "flaws" too Westerners take pride in their religion and its practice. This inspired me to take more interest in my Hindu religion and to be proud of my culture.

Americans celebrate even their short history..there are museums dedicated to a hundred years of history even in small American cities. In India we let our centuries old history go to the ruins...

Yes, all of the above. Plus, I really like our culture & traditions. I didn't realize while I was in India, only when I migrated abroad & saw the families here did I realize how much better our system is. When I see families breaking apart, people getting married & divorced over & over, children disrespecting their parents (& in general having a low opinion of their "uncool" parents), I am glad that I am an Indian!
