Mother-In-law

In the morning the day after I was married, the phone rang. "Reverse charges call from Jackie," said the operator. "Will you accept the charges?"
I couldn't think of anyone that I knew who was called Jackie; so I said no and put down the 'phone.
A moment later, the phone rang again. "Hi, Margaret, it's Jackie," said a familiar voice, "your mother-in-law."

Okay…..the joke went something like…..Margaret got a call…she was told it's from Jackie…..now Margaret doesn't know anyone named Jackie so she said she would want to take the call…..then later Jackie herself called Margaret and told her that 'I'm Jackie your mother-in-law.'…….so in the mother-in-law's eyes….she thought that Margaret didn't accept the call earlier because she knew it was her mother-in-law…when the actual thing had been that Margaret didn't know who Jackie is….but then anyway at the end the mother-in-law thinks that Margaret had done it purposely since they both have the (typical) mother-in-law and daughter-in-law sort of relationship……
