This appears to be the ranks for the 6 metros only and looks like Chennai is figuring in it quite prominently going by the rankings Sun T.V. has got.

oh!! i really doubt this trp chart ,this zee marathi & sun tv ??????

but i hope kayamath is really at no 2 position all due to superb SHABBIR -PANCHI scenes & the interesting story line of the show !!!!

I checked back on past rankings. It said C & S4, NWE. Now I would presume that to be Central India, S4 meaning the four southern states and NWE meaning North West and East. So there would be a wider dispersal with small towns and villages also getting covered.

Now this ranking appears to be for C & S4 (which would mean all the small towns and villages in this region) and the 6 top metros (that may be Delhi, Mumbai, Kolkatta, Chennai, Bangalore and Hyderabad). That explains this ranking. KYM which is a show which caters to the tastes of metro audience has fared well whereas a show like Bidai which is more to the taste of the small towns mostly in the north, has slid back because these towns are not in the coverage list.

I dont know if this is a one-off thing or they have made a shift in the manner in which TAM rankings are being made. I would'nt be surprised if they have, because after all everybody is after big bucks. The whole purpose of these rankings is to lure the ads to the shows doing well. And ad revenues would reap more returns by way of increased sales, in the big cities rather than the small towns.
