Kavyanjali-

Hello people, here is a story in Kavya and Anjali's life a few years after they are together with their daughter (taken off of my previous story and not the original story line on TV)-

Part I

Kavya Nanda was a happy man. He ran a succesful business, had a lovely wife and a wonderful family. What else could a man desire, he was blessed. After all the trials maybe this happiness had to arrive?

Anjali had settled down, back to the man she loved , her daughter she adored and a family that was by her side since she came back. She had learnt to make her peace with Pammi. Pammi and Kavya could never become friends again but reamined civil for the sake of their son, Ranbir. Ranbir was a good boy and Anjali had to grant it to Pammi for raising him so well.

Kavya loved both his children very much, always gave his all. Anjali was the loving mother and their own Kavyanjali was now 15 years old . She was quite attractive and kishmish had taken after her father, Kavya Nanda . She was a little shy but well liked by all her friends. She grew up for the past five years with Kavya but she missed Yug sometimes, whom she still called Dad.

Yug Mittal had moved to England with his wife Nandini Mittal and had been living there since. He visited Mumbai for business but it wasnt the same for kishmish. She was planning to go to England for her education and this way she thought in her heart she could be with Yug more often. She did love her Papa- Kavya too, but both of them were the sensitive and quiet kind. They could never open up to each other as friends. Anjali was the only one whom Kavya could bare his heart too. He never could let that wall crumble in front of anyone, his experiences had scarred him for life. Only Anjali, noone else.

Yug Mittal and Nandini had a son Arin, all of three years old, the light of their life and kishmish loved Ari very much. They kept up with Pammi and Ranbir loved Yug very much. Yug was now an extremely responsible and sharp businessman who had expanded his empire everywhere in the world. He was very well respected though known for his cut throat nature in his deals.

Kavya and Yug were planning on renewing their partnership. This way yug could make foray into the ever growing Indian market once again and who better than the Nanda's.

Yug Mittal decided to bring his family with him to Mumbai and make a holiday out of this. He needed to relax but Yug knew Nandini needed to relax more.

Part II

Yug arrived in Mumbai a couple days after Nandini and Ari. Kishmish was waiting and was thrilled to see Dad aftera long time. She ran across and hugged him, with tears in her eyes she cried "Dad, I missed you.". Driving home with his daughter Yug Mittal looked out of the window deep in thought, as kishmish animatedly talked about school, her crush on Vikram and how Ranbir never returned her book.Yug has his arm around kishmish and that was enough, she could go on forever. They reached home, Nivee was thrilled to see her son.

Everyone was home and chatting over tea as they waited for Yug. Kavya would be there as soon as he had finished up with work. Yug went upstairs, gently kissed his Ari baby and looked at him before he stepped out to freshen up. They all chatted through the evening, Kavya was here and they had dinner.

Yug wasn't the same. Kavya kept searching Yug for answers, over all that they had been through, Yug and Kavya had become really close. Kavya always relied on Yug since. Kavya asked Anjali if she knew anything. Nandini overheard Kavya's and Anjali's conversation and she told them what it was that Yug had on his mind.

Nandini had been diagnosed with heart failure last year.

Ha ha, apparently in my mind, Yug went for his wine and women not work😆 at the time.

Part III

Heart failure with an Ejection fraction as low as 37%. Enlarged left ventricles causing severe deficiency in the pumping capability of the cardiac system. All this medical jargon caused Anjali to go in a tizzy. All she could think of was how could anyone so young have heart failure?

Nandini told Anjali and Kavya, heart failure was being researched and studied, she maybe still stood a chance.All was not lost yet, she was on medication and they were trying all they could and the final hope was that of a heart transplant. But she also had to face reality, her's was a little too far out. Hearts don't sell at the neighborhood pharmacy like Tylenol. Technically yeah, she could find a heart but would she? Yug was fiercely stubborn and had always said "yes, of course Nandu, you will get a new heart and i will fall in love with it all over again".

Nandini said to Kavya, Yug Mittal was playing a strong man but she was never able to sense what he was going through. They just fought on, she still had hope. And even if she lost the battle she was glad Yug would have Arin. Anjali and Kavya were too shocked to offer any consolation. As Yug and Nivee approached them, Yug sensed they had heard and changed the topic. Nivee didnt know and they would have to tell her. As Nandini knew he would,Yug moved away from their situation, talked of kishmish, Ranbir and Ari. And yet, they would have to let Nivee know. Since they had known Yug never once spoke as if Nandini faced death. As far as she knew her Yug was a fighter, but whether he was fooling himself or being strong she couldnt tell.

Yug finally said to Nivee, "Mama, Nandini will probably need a heart transplant". Nivee was stunned. Kavya didnt know why, he suddenly felt this surge of protection in his heart. He had to do something, Yug had brought his Anjali and him back together. Yug had given him "Anjali", and that very rare opportunity, at having a second run for a life. Kavya had to save Nandini, he had to help Yug, give him the same opportunity- a second chance at life. But how does one begin to fight death? Anjali cried with Nivee and held her. Looking at how the evening had changed, Nandini felt guilty. She had brought everyone to this point. As she spiralled downward her family and her Yug fell with her. Nandini was overwhelmed-

She just closed her eyes and laid her head on that shoulder. Her Yug could just hold her and magically she would be alright. Yug held onto Nandini for dear life-

Part IV


Nandini was asleep even as everyone collected their thoughts. Nivee decided to check on Arin and Anjali stepped out to call kishmish and check on her. Kavya desperately searched Yug for even a hint of his thoughts. Would Yug please just tell them what it is that he needed? Kavya got up and sat next to Yug offering his support, maybe just the presence of a friend would help? Yug faintly touched Kavya's hand almost as if he really was asking for strength and then suddenly not. He got up gently placing Nandini down. Yug's eyes wandered aimlessly and Kavya's followed them. Yug was he perhaps listening to Asha Bhonsle as her voice played in the background?

"Aaj jaane ki zidd naa karo,
Yuun hi pehlu mein baithe raho,
Aaj jaane ki zidd na karo,
Haay mar jaayenge, Hum to Lut jaayenge

"Aaj jaane ki zidd naa karo,"

Yug played the words of the song in his head again and again. His ask for the lady to stay back had a little more challenge than the song intended but still-

Yug was begging, pleading an unforgiving Nandini not to leave him. Would she just understand please, what had he done that she was leaving him for so far away. He couldn't even get there soon with Arin around. Alright, she hated him but what about Arin; she loved him enough to stay for a few more days? Yug would grovel, he would cry he would do anything but would Nandini please just not leave so soon. Why did everyone just take him for granted? He hurt too you know-

"God, Yug please speak with somebody, we've been though so much buddy."- Kavya played these words again and again in his head but was for some reason was unable to lend them a voice. And Kavya finally got up, walked to Yug and gave him a great big hug. Yug just took a deep breath and just muttered to Kavya "Why?"

Yug shook his head looking at Nandini and just looked at Kavya. Anjali walked in and looked at the two friends. As Kavya's eyes filled up with tears Yug's couldn't find any.
