Did Gautam Gambhir's decisions cost Team India the series?
Watching the film in an hr ..Hoping for a good time .
Will this make more than welcome 3 ?
Finally done with Dhamaal 4. The film is a decent comedy that makes you laugh in parts. It’s not in the league of its iconic first installment .The film has some genuinely funny moments that definitely brought a smile to my face, but it also has several dragged-out scenes that try too hard to make you laugh.
The story can be divided into three segments. The first segment featuring Ajay Devgn and Esha Gupta is funny but also grossly annoying at times. The kids are super irritating here. The second segment, where Riteish Deshmukh mistakenly marries a fat girl, raises a few laughs. The third segment featuring Arshad Warsi and Jaaved Jaaferi is undoubtedly the major highlight of the film. Jaaved simply brings the house down with his innocent act.
The first half works despite some inconsistencies. Several jokes land well, while many others fall flat. Still, there is a constant smile on your face. You expect the film to reach an all-time high in the second half because the first half mainly builds up the setup of the treasure hunt that is about to follow.
Unfortunately, the second half is a bit of a letdown. The journey to reach the island isn’t as funny. The special effects also become quite tacky at this pount. The film also feels prolonged, with several scenes stretching longer than necessary, especially the jungle sequence where Riteish takes on a tribal group, which feels completely unnecessary. Moreover the melodramatic part in the climax falls flat and feels out of sync with the rest of the film .
Performance-wise, Ajay is in form. He looks dashing and has excellent comic timing. Riteish Deshmukh gets a good opportunity to shine and leaves a huge mark in his role. Arshad Warsi is quite funny, but the show-stealer is Jaaved Jaaferi, who walks away with the funniest part. His mere presence evokes laughter. Anjali Anand has her moments, Sanjeeda is decent, while Esha Gupta hardly gets anything to do.
Overall, Dhamaal 4 is an entertaining comedy despite its flaws.
