Massive backlash for Rashmika's hindi in Cocktail. Your thoughts?

Almost everyone has called her out for her lack of hindi..poor diction and the heavy accent. The backlash is so intense that many have asked her to stick to south movies and hire a hindi tutor before signing any BW movie or get her voice dubbed.

Do you think this criticism is justified? But then we tolerated katrina's hindi for over a decade so why is this so much of an issue now?

Your take.

Yes, she has an accent. Her Hindi diction is okay. They could dub her voice if they wanted to but they didn’t. They changed the narrative to fit her accent/ diction.

If she's going to work n Hindi movies, she should keep a Hindi tutor and improve her diction for future movies.

..in fact they teach some Urdu words also.

I agree, sridevi used to be dubbed, had an accent in all her movies, Katrina was dubbed, deepika was dubbed in oso. Rashmika was so cute in this movie, she has such a beautiful photogenic expressive face. I thought she emoted better than Kriti sanon

Rashmika definitely has a South Indian accent while speaking in Hindi. Maybe a turn off for some.

DP also has a South Indian accent. She’s gotten better though. Also in OSO they didn’t use DP’s own voice. I think someone else provided the voice for DP’s characters in that movie.

Older actresses like Jayaprada and Sridevi also had such heavy South Indian accents. Jayaprada more than Sridevi.

They gave the justification after the backlash with the name showing as Diya Reddy

But aren't there more hints in the movie - except the family name - that allude to Telugu roots? (e.g. connecting her character to Hyderabad)
