No... First it was Mahendra Singh Dhoni. Before LSG, Goenka was the owner of Rising Pune Supergiants and Dr. Sanjeev Goenka misbehaved a lot with MS, after which he took away captaincy from MSD and gave it to Steve Smith.

For a long time Goenka and MS were at the other ends.

And I believe jis insaan ki Dhoni se nahi ban sakti, uski kisi se nahi ban sakti. Period.

Yeah. It happened during the two years ban on CSK and RR. He was somehow adamant over MS that he should make RPS win IPL tournament, which Dhoni couldn't and they were at loggerhead. And in the next season he took Captaincy from MS and made Steve Smith their captain. That was the first time since MS had been captain that he played under any other captain. The OG CSK fans were livid with Goenka and have always hated him for doing so.

That's why even now you'll find many CSKians never support LSG because of Goenka.
