Known to be slow starters, MI still have everything to play for when they take on the Gujarat Titans on Monday, April 20 at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad.

MI’s bowling unit has struggled throughout the tournament, with the likes of Shardul Thakur and Deepak Chahar conceding at over 13 runs per over. Only Mitchell Santner has maintained an economy rate under 10 (9.28), underlining how difficult it has been for MI in the bowling department.

Bumrah’s dip in form has only compounded their problems. The team has staged comebacks with their backs to the wall in the past, but if they are to revive their campaign this season, Bumrah must rediscover his rhythm and quickly.

CAN GUJARAT MAKE IT 5-0 IN AHMEDABAD?

The Narendra Modi Stadium hasn’t been a happy hunting ground for Mumbai Indians, with Gujarat Titans defeating them in all four meetings at the venue. The closest MI came to a win in Ahmedabad was in 2024, when they fell short by six runs while chasing 169. In the other three encounters, the Titans have comfortably dominated.

However, GT are yet to hit top gear at home this season, with one win against KKR and a loss to Rajasthan Royals—both games going down to the final over. Riding a hat-trick of wins, the Titans will look to avoid any slip-ups and capitalise against teams that are struggling.
