Bollywood actor Rakesh Bedi is currently enjoying a career resurgence thanks to his role in Aditya Dhar's Dhurandhar. Recently, Farah Khan visited his home with her cook, Dilip, for her cooking vlog. During their visit, they reminisced about their early struggles, recalling how Rakesh and his friends used to enjoy free food and drinks at Javed Akhtar's place.

Farah Khan spills the beans about Rakesh Bedi's FTII days

Upon entering Rakesh Bedi's home, Farah Khan introduced him to her viewers, calling him "Dhurandhar ka main hero." She mentioned that while she had known Rakesh for a long time, they were meeting after many years. Farah recalled that she was only 15 years old when Rakesh, who was around 25 at the time, was studying at the Film and Television Institute of India (FTII). She said, FTII se yeh log roz aate the Javed uncle aur Honey aunty ke ghar free ka khaana aur free ki daaru peene, aate the vahan par toh we used to meet all of them (They used to come every day from FTII to Javed uncle and Honey aunty’s house for free food and free drinks, and that’s where we would meet all of them).

She further added, He used to come with Farooq Shaikh, Satish Shah, Neena Gupta and Supriya Pathak. Humari puraani dosti hai (We are old friends) but we are meeting after a very long time.

In 2025, upon Satish Shah's passing, Rakesh penned an emotional note on social media, remembering his friend. Sharing a picture, he wrote, “How much I miss you, my friend. You are etched in me."

With a career spanning since 1976, the actor has established a significant presence in the entertainment industry through numerous hit shows and films. His acting journey began in 1976, and he first achieved widespread recognition with the 1981 film Chashme Buddoor. He subsequently starred in successful movies like Ek Duuje Ke Liye, Ram Teri Ganga Maili, Yes Boss, Gharwali Baharwali, and Bade Miyan Chote Miyan, among others. Furthermore, his comedic performances in television sitcoms such as Yeh Jo Hai Zindagi, Shrimaan Shrimati, and F.I.R, have made him a familiar and beloved figure in households.

In his latest release, Dhurandhar: The Revenge, the actor's portrayal of Pakistani politician Jameel Jamali garnered praise from fans, who also appreciated his character's development. The film, which features Ranveer Singh, Arjun Rampal, R Madhavan, Sanjay Dutt, and Sara Arjun, has achieved remarkable success, becoming one of the highest-grossing Indian films globally with a box office collection exceeding ?1,750 crore.
