'I become a SHAPESHIFTER,' says Vineet Raina, Calls himself a 'self taught' actor

Vineet Raina, who is known for his performances in shows like Punar Vivah, Lapataganj - Ek Baar Phir, Tum Hi Ho Bandhu Sakha Tumhi, and Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai, among others, believes that acting is as much about instinct as it is about experience. Without adhering to a fixed method, the actor has carved his own path, building a craft that is deeply personal and constantly evolving.

Opening up about his approach, Vineet shares, “I don’t follow any formal acting method. Everything I’ve learned comes from being on set, observing directors, co-actors, and everyday people. Over time, I’ve developed my own style.”

His journey, he says, has been organic. “I didn’t begin with a structured technique. I experimented, observed seasoned actors, and learned on the job. That’s how my process evolved,” he explains.

When it comes to preparing for roles, Vineet relies on a blend of instinct and understanding. “I don’t rush into saying yes. I spend time with the script, build character sketches, and try to get under the skin of the role. If it excites and challenges me, only then do I take it up,” he says.

Interestingly, the actor does not credit any single school of thought for shaping his craft. “I trust my instincts completely. My approach is personal—it’s about the connection I form with each script,” he adds.
