Alcohol is a must with food in East Asia so maybe that's why they find smoking fascinating

I thought alcohol was a must with food in the West. I didn’t know it was the same with East Asia. (Or maybe did US copy them smiley36)

From the start of the novel, Xie Zheng is portrayed as someone who can see through schemes. Even when Wei Xuan controlled Xie army troops Xie Zheng waited in Lin'an town knowing where Wei Xuan would make a mistake and how he as Marquis Wu'an could make his grand reappearance. + much more small examples how he always weighs the pros and cons before acting. He's not an unreasonable/impulsive person (in general, he's more than impulsive with FCY but let's not go there smiley36). In this case he knew details of the Fan family beforehand. How Wei Yan is hunting down the Fan family, how FCY's father hid under someone else's identity for years - like he had an idea more or less that there's something hidden behind the massacre 16~ years ago. But his first instinct was to cut her off. I get it his life took a worse turn with his parents' death and it haunts him till date but he didn't even process who Wei Qilin could be and why he would hide so long how General Meng's daughter would readily be married to WQL. That's why I said maybe the author might be emphasizing the depth of his scars that he would shed his usual self and his first instinct becomes to withdraw and protect himself.

Ho Okay..

but he was willing to let go all that pain and trauma for her..everything that he had accumulated from childhood ,he was willing to let go everything for her and chooses her irrespective of result..that was something only a sincere person could do..not like if proven false then i will be with you else not..i choose you irrespective of whatever the investigation result maybe ..

US is more into red wines? Or whisky or bourbon or vodka smiley36 one more I can't recall now

Korea soaks in soju (rice wine) and beer. There isn't one drama I can remember without soju or beer

China must also be into rice wine but Baijiu is often seen in dramas for toasting. Red wine is often seen in modern dramas. One thing I find interesting is that China pretty much has all 'blossom' wine smiley37 peach blossom, plum blossom - you name it they will have it smiley36

I think it is a consious decision by the government..they do not want their youth to take bad inspiration from their favorite leads and be influenced by it..hence the chastity and turned down negativity..their government will get heart attack if they see our sandeep reddy vanga's kabir singh or animal

Afaik, US is more into beers and wines. It’s not like vodka is any less famous, but beers are staple.
