Have they been any psychological studies on these aspects and its impacts ?

bold: Bravo to accept t h a t smiley32(although the comment in parantheses again is one of your false statements about me smiley36)... and yes, there had been studies... I even posted the link to one in the first thread smiley2 (you may have missed it)

Edit: I know, a bit late but after responding to the notifications I just started to read what got posted since yesterday...

Didn’t you say you won’t tag me or reply to me

Did you not complaint to mods that you are feeling harassed despite you being the one that attacks me ?

Do harassed people quote the people they are claiming harass them to enter into further conversations and that too many quotes here and elsewhere after your actions to silence me ?

And then you want to make assumptions about my gender, my religion and what not.

Anyone thinking a male needs to accompany a woman to undertake a pilgrimmage for safety makes little sense to me. If it does to you, stick to your views. In my experience from childhood to adulthood, temples are sacred and girls / boys / men / women all feel safe. Maybe because our places of worship have never been used to organize terror activities and hide terrorists and weapons.

I am Charlie Hebdo and your efforts to silence me will never work.

As a new member I was going over Bollywood forums. Looking for posts on Haq. I should not be shocked after the attacks on me but it’s a masterpiece of a movie by Yami based on a true story. They don’t want reform if this is their view and if they think it’s propoganda. They want to oppress women and control them and treat them as badly as they do.

I applaud Modi govt doing something for them instead of saying not my problem. It would be so easy. What Modi govt is accused of is being anti Muslim. If they were, why would they take any action and pass laws that help Muslim women ? Who is going to explain to them ? The end of the movie is so heartbreaking as 90 days after SC verdict Congress had passed some silly law that rendered it virtually useless.

Dialogue will never be feasible with some of these folks when their fake claims of being moderates and peacefuls can’t even applaud a movie like Haq and the role of Indian govt in abolishing Triple Talaq. I hope you saw that movie as it’s on OTT.

I saw that movie & this is what i find fundamentally wrong in it...

This is actually not Indian govt problem . They are protected by their sharia law , they have their personal laws & constitution allows them to follow it..its their constitutional right ...so in the movie , instead of calling out the religion & societal bias , the female lead defends it ..at least tell the real problem ..ofc alimony is every woman's right but her right was limited by sharia & her husband ..who will speak against their religion ? Will Muslim women do it ? Even if they do , they have to live in the same society & suffer ..like triple talaq was banned but theres no major improvement in their life..why ? Bec husband says he wont give talaq but remarry or just leave the women..she will not be eligible for alimony & wont be divorced ..what changed?

Its not possible to implement ucc as it is bec a huge chunk of population , as of today , cant be brought under 1 umbrella of laws ..its one of the many historical mistakes which costs us dear...

How often should I repeat that humans made their own rules about how religion has to 'function' in their society... and no, the debate would not be philosophical but psychological because there is a reason why these rules (and 'punishments') are made by men...

It's not about what I think.. Muslims consider Quran to be revealed to Prophet Mohd. by God hence it is a revealed text.. But that is not my problem.. Not all things that are man made or God revealed are necessarily bad ..... However any such teaching that asks people to divide the world between believers and non believers, kill non believers, destroy their places of worship, take their women and men captive, caste worst horrors on them - such teachings need to go if we really aspire for peace. It does not matter whether such texts / verses are God revealed or man made... Anything that inflicts pain to other human being should not have place in civilized society... My God could be a man holding a flute and sudarshan chakra in his hand or a man sitting in silence in Himalayas or a woman wielding weapons in a battlefields or your God can be omnipresent, formless or monotheistic, however that should result into killing of human beings or forced conversions... Even if God himself descends on this planet and asks people to 'mindlessly' kill people, human consciousness should be such to reject this idea.... However I am completely pro picking up weapons in self defense and always will be...

PS :- I do not wish to impose this idea however I do believe that believers of many Gods can fundamentally accommodate one more God but somehow its seems to be difficult for the believers of one God accommodate the believers of many Gods and hence the friction will be there...

Okay, they don't understand my writings and therefore distort them... nothing else than to hope that other members (including the mods) understand them and also understand that I'm a far cry away from being a "closeted terrorism supporter" (gosh!)

And poor victim of mine, this Cynical1 guy, he must feel persecuted... I understand that... just to console you, dear:

It is a govt problem if they need laws. Just like triple talaq ban, UCC can only be passed if the government passes with appropriate votes (and hence seats) it needs to pass the laws.

If a Muslim women then chooses to suffer for whatever reason despite the laws, that’s personal choice.

speaking against did happen. Sha Bano case is a real story and many others have spoken up.

You are also correct. A lot of it does need UCC. This was my point about why I like and respect the modi govt that is not afraid of correcting laws and past mistakes as you say. I would like to see UCC passed in my lifetime

Yes I saw Haq.. Beautiful movie....I wish it had done well in the theatres but it worked good on the OTT..smiley20. Some people complained of the pace but I felt the pace was also very good.. Needless to say Yami was very good in all her emotional scenes.. I loved Imran Hashmi's performance also.. Did a negative role without being too loud... Throughout the movie looked very normal yet wrong.. Overall achi lagi movie...smiley27

Yes this is one problem which people pointed out.. The only reason I give it a pass is because she lectured her community and not us ...smiley36 Change is not easy and many times people born and brought up in a particular faith tend to defend it... There have been certain reformists like Tarek Fatah who held the same views.... That said I completely agree we should reject any lectures directed at us... And then there are people who are of the firm opinion that reform is not possible in Islam.. Reformists have so far not succeeded is also true...

Ah dear, I'm one of those who can do both... talk with you albeit disagreeing with you... you know, you may not get it, I'm quite smiley16 about people who try to harrass me, distort my writings to make them fit to their own biased impression of me. Of course, I reported you for the way you adressed me, lied about me, harrassed me through talking about me, tagging and quoting me... so, yes, I changed my mind (change is possible at every second in life, you know?) and continue to interact with you...even though it gets a bit boring to always tell you that it is n o t about silencing you ...don't know why you like to pose as a victim of me smiley36... I'm completely harmless... not an ounce of terrorist blood/thought in me... and as long as it suits you to badmouth me, I'm eager to retort... I tried to ignore you but as you continued to tag me, I thought that you feel the urge to have interaction with me... so, main hoon naa smiley1

She carried the movie on her shoulders as she should because of the story. the way she carried the movie resulted in me having no problems with pace. Imran Hashmi also did a great job.
