What’s your defense / comments for such actions by the “largely peaceful majority”?

I just read that someone said India is helping Iran for own interest and not on humanitarian grounds

Are you even real??

India allowed the naval ships to shore on Indian ports as early as on 3rd of March when no one knew this war would become so consequential.

India has been providing humanitarian support to other countries without any expectations. We were first to provide the package to Turkey after the earthquake there though Turkey has always been Pro Pakistan (and continue to do so even after aid), provided grains to Bangladesh when the relations were historically at the lowest.

Idk who said that but i will be honest here, india does provide humanitarian help to other countries for long term strategic interests. But its not just india, other countries do the same for their own benefit. And whats wrong with that?? Nothing. Those countries receive humanitarian aid during crises, while india gains their trust, which can be valuable when we need support in the future. You never know how or when the geopolitical scenario might change, so its better to help others during difficult times.

Also, india helping bangladesh on various fronts (even though there have been incidents like the lynching of hindus) has its own advantages. India is trying its best to ensure that bangladesh does not fully align with either china or the USA. So yes, we do have our own strategic interests when we make deals with them or extend help.

People on social media criticize indian govt for helping bangladesh but they fail to understand that we also have areas where we can benefit from maintaining this relationship. Its not easy to break ties in today’s geopolitical world as people often assume. We should only consider cutting ties with pakistan as that remains our primary adversary. For other nations, its important to keep diplomatic relations intact.

Do you know the amount of aid Palestine has recd in past ?

Contextual Totals:

  • Total International (1994–2020): >$40 billion
  • U.S. Assistance (1993–2023): >$7.6 billion
  • UN Agencies in Gaza (2014–2020): ~$4.5 billion
  • Other Estimates (Past 30 years): >$50 billion

and the extremists still receive aid after Oct 7 Israel itself sends aid

None of us can see their plight despite the fact that they turnaround and use most of the aid for violent ends. smiley6

India’s humanity has always been exemplary. We have sent aid to Bangladesh despite their Nobel laureate leader wanted to tie up with China and Pakistan and attack us to destroy us and even spoke of that on his exit.

Clochette - Any thoughts on why they Islamic extremists and the “largely peaceful majority” continue to need aid, assistance and asylum all over the world more than any other community globally ?

Providing aid to Bangladesh looks more like a majboori than strategic interest.. smiley36 It's more like ki karna nai chahte lekin karna padega kind of thing.. smiley36 For others yes one can always help and expect that the kindness is remembered when the time comes.. Aid is often for the common folks.. Sometimes it remembered like in case of Afghanistan (for now), sometimes it is forgotten like in case of Turkey... I remember some videos when Turkey was hit by Earthquake some people said they always felt relieved to see Indian flags...
