Thanks but you can save the judgements about Islam..not doing a this vs that here..every religion has its own teachings and as much as one may assume they don't go hand in hand..you cannot do sajdah in namaz and do puja of bhagwan simultaneously..sarah has an atheist dad and a hindu mom..naturally she identifies as a hindu..she has grown up in hinduism..so there is no concept of a half hindu or half muslim in her case..
I judge all religions including mine wherever I feel it's necessary so it goes without saying that I wasn't picking on Islam when I used the word unreasonable. My judgements stand because they were specifically in the context of idol worship and thats relevant in this case. Sarah's muslim lineage is making her a target here and the idea that if she practises Islam which forbids idol worship ,her visits to temples are questionable and disrespectful because there's no way her Islamic leanings would let her respect a Hindu shrine. This is whats making them demand an ' affidavit' which is outrageous.. They same people are also saying speaking in support of her right to visit temples is ' appeasement ' , that it's a one way street where Hindus create wiggle room but never the other way. Whatever I said earlier was strictly in that context , so I won't be saving any. You're welcome.
Saif is not an atheist. He does dish some mumbo jumbo in his usual pretentious style about being more ' spiritual' than religious , he's said he's agnostic but he's also made his interest in religion pretty obvious. He has visited both temples and mosques , with both set of kids. But that's not the ' Muslim' part here. His mother converted to Islam to marry his Muslim dad. He has a Muslim name and was raised Muslim. All his kids have Muslim names. He owns a home with a mosque in it. And he's Muslim 'legally ' ( on paper ). Which is why Amrita converted to marry him.
Back to Sara , her mum is half Sikh and half Muslim through her grandmother Rukhsana. She's literally in an interfaith situation , belief wise and otherwise. Sara herself has said she has faith in both religions and that's what matters. Nobody should be gatekeeping or deciding if her sajdah or puja is valid enough. It is for her ,and it probably is for her God and that's all there is to it.
ETA :- It sounded like you were on the side of those Hindutva people. I didn't know you were Muslim or I would have phrased the previous post differently. Didn't mean to be rude to you. ✌️
