The crux of the story was the inner turmoil of the protagonists which they kept hidden from everyone, sometimes even from their selves.

When I first started writing the story, it was about PiyAnsh. But then I realized Saavi, Naman and Nishant's trauma were equally severe and they deserved some closure.

So it's that final phase of the story. All of them have revisited their past, realizing what went wrong and what needs to be fixed. Saying goodbye to their deceased family members is the beginning of it; as they'll finally be able to move forward...

Went back and read it again. It was good for everyone to get a second chance to be with loved ones for a little while. Even if it is not going to last, this meant a lot.

You're right, they deserved this closure and tried to make the best use of those stolen moments. However, it could not last forever. The more time they would spend, the more difficult it would become for them to let go. That is why everyone, whether it's Naman, Saavi, Nishant or Ansh, kept reminding themselves that it's a dream world and the fact that a version of their loved ones exist and will get to have their happy ending is more than enough for them.

It is heartbreaking, yes, but then again they have real family members, including their kids waiting for them. They can't be stuck in the past forever if they want to ensure their kids never go through the same pain as them.

So eventually they had to return.

Since Ansh is the creator of this world, he had to coordinate with everyone to make sure they have said their goodbyes...

Once they return, he will make sure both the worlds remain detached so no one can tamper with time ever again.
