Horrible trailer.

Having seen the original movie, they haven't been able to capture even 5% of its essence.
Sai captures the innocence but there's more to it. I would be interested if they kept the other aspects intact and how she does in those scenes.
As for Junaid, he simply doesn't fit. And I'm not even sure if it's him or the makers who should be blamed that they are not presenting the hero as the original where it made sense why one day alone would be enough.
Here he looks like a regular introvert, decently groomed and only being stupid for not approaching the girl directly.
Movie looks interesting to me. I’ll watch this.
as expected the usual pr... still I'll watch it... ek din
What a boring trailer.
I really like Sai but she too is meh in this

I agree. Last night I went and watched the original with subtitles because it sounded so interesting and I can already sense that they'll probably copy it frame-by-frame and maybe change a few things at most.
I do sense that they'll probably change the ending for sure. Sai's character, Meera, will realize that Junaid's character, Rohan, is the right one for her and chase him down and profess love.
I haven't seen Sai's previous films, but her acting in this looks good though it won't be enough. Junaid has the same 1 expression throughout the trailer and of course the movie is produced by his dear father.

I think what makes the original so special is that Nui is portrayed realistically. I mean the typical bias and her irritation at the idea of Denchai being her BF was heartbreaking yet realistic.
And what made the ending so sad is that she kept begging him to remind her once the day was over, and somewhere deep down she knew who was the right guy but she couldn't follow him.
Till this day I wish there was a second part when she finally chases him down.
Sai is a good actress and she has a very positive, girl next door image. I'm skeptical if they'll show the negative shades of Nui here or not.
I don't want to demean her or her fans but she just doesn't fit the role of Nui for some reason IMHO. Or maybe it's how they have made the trailer, I don't know.
Junaed the lesser said the better.

That's true. Both characters were realistic in the original. Denchai also knew he didn't have any chance and you could see that he hated himself as he realized what his need for that "one day" had made him do.
Both weren't wrong and both weren't right in the film. And thus the ending made sense. Where they separated but pined for each other as they continued in their lives.
I don't think they can pull that off here though. While the trailer seems like a frame by frame copy, I highly doubt it would work. I'm not even thinking about the fanbases and actors. I just mean in general that for such romantic films, unless you're showing a tragic love story like Aashiqui 2 or Laila Majnu or Ek Villain, the leads have to end up together. I have a feeling they will change that in the end here.
I feel Sai could do the role of Nui really well if they stay true to the original. Her girl next door vibes would make a role like Nui such a surprise coming from her. I feel the trailer doesn't do her justice and focuses more on Junaid. It's almost as if they wanted to keep her role hidden or maybe daddy wants to focus on son more.
