Pitch Report: Weather is absolutely perfect, says Nasser Hussain. Slightly off-centre today, so 70m hit down the ground, and 66m and 68m square. Black soil pitch today and it is a little slower generally. As the dew comes in, the pitch plays nicer. Pace-off has worked for seamers, especially when bowled full. Katey Martin says Abhishek Sharma, who is still looking for his first World Cup run, will love batting first on this pitch.

They should practice chasing second. I think we are getting too used to batting first. Not every time toss will go our way, right ?

Scott Edwards: Yeah, we would (have batted). Also looks like pretty good wickets. (what are you looking for from this game?) Obviously, yeah, playing in India is always an awesome experience. We feel like we've played a lot of good cricket. We've probably missed a couple of chances. So, yeah, for us, it's just about finishing our campaign well. (what are the areas you are trying to improve?) Probably all over the streak now, I think. You know, in patches we've been good with the bat and with the ball. But, yeah, just looking to put in a complete performance today. We have one change - Noah Croes comes in for Fred Klaassen.

Varun: "I would have played Samson and Siraj in place of Bumrah and Varun in this lineup. Deeper batting line up, and bowl with the part time bowlers. Not because the opponent is Netherlands, but because this is a dead rubber. No point playing Varun, and Bumrah has to be preserved as much as possible. He always gets injured." -- May have been an option, but India have opted for continuity with their two biggest bowling match-winners.

Kishore: "India could have opted for bowling first today since they havent chased in these 3 games." -- They probably back themselves to do that, even without practice. But defending a score, especially if dew is a major factor, might need some more acclimatizing to, given their first Super Eight fixture is at this venue against South Africa.
