Initially Mihir Tulsi kaa plan hum do humaare do tha. When they lost Gautam, they went for third child. The third child got kidnapped and they had to raise a fourth child. Then somewhere in Australia Mihir was doing separate family planning with Mandira, so came another child. When biologically they stopped becoming parents then adoption se aur 3 bacche aa gaye. Aise bacche jodhte jodhte 8 bacche ho gaye. Like they say boond boond se samundar banta hai

Life is always stressful and i wanna watch larger than life grand sets and ott and chaos.

My mom watched that show and immediately pointed out how dull the shows looks.She liked panchayat a lot tho on primevideo.

The show ka story might be good but ITV soap operas are always OTT and chaotic.

Thats the difference in OTT and ITV

Your parents have a fantastic sense of humour and I daresay that I would love them. I teased my mom sometimes by calling her Nirupa Roy

TBH, I don’t care how rich or poor characters are as long as I like them. But ITV has a fetish and a morbid fascination of making rich characters go poor but never the other way around. And just like government policies, middle class doesn’t exist in their shows too.

You don’t find regular folks living in flats in metros or if set in a smaller town/city, stories about folks who live in what are certainly bigger houses than anything you could get in a metro as a middle class person. Even if they set their stories in small towns, they make sure that the story ends up being about the richest family of that town thereby ensuring that they live in the biggest home, the fanciest one for their town. They never have to worry about bills, EMIs etc.

I understand people tune into these shows to escape these exact issues in their own lives but it would feel nice to be seen. Even better to watch a story of a child of an average middle class family creating history with the kind of success that they achieve. And it’s not like we don’t have examples - plenty of them - look at Sunder Pichhai, Dhirubhai Ambani, Narendra Modi. None of them was born with a silver spoon, all of them started their lives with humble beginnings and look at what they accomplished.

In terms of women look at Falguni Nayar (Nykaa), Vineeta Singh (Sugar Cosmetics), Richa Kar (Zivame) and Smriti to name a few. Women born to average folks who have broken the glass ceiling.

The problem isn’t even a lack of stories that can serve as inspiration in a country like ours. The problem is a lack of vision.

I wish we had a healthy mix of shows based on historical figures who have achieved something phenomenal in our history as well as contemporary achievers of say the last 5 or so decades. Imagine the kind of inspiration that can provide to young minds who can then create history.

But our shows would rather be stuck with rona dhona, tu mera babu main teri shona

There is nothing relatable in ITV.

Historical stories are a gold mine in India

They can craft many series.

I was reccomended by my parents to watch malgudi days.Loved it.

They never explored small peeps making it big

Its gareebi and gareebi

If you wanna show love stories atleast give something that gives butterflies.Its just same daddy issue wala ladka and bichari sanskari ladki

We don’t even have proper comedies or satire these days. Kapil Sharma is not the peak of comedy, he and his show aren’t even funny. Sunil Grover is talented, I don’t deny that but that show is trash.

You had Office Office before, Flop Show, Filmy Chakkar, Hum Paanch to name a few.

Episodic shows spanning across genres like Love Stories, Teri Meri Stories, Ssshh Koi Hai, Aahat, etc. Not to mention family friendly game shows like Antakshari, Khulja Sim Sim.

Now it’s trash and more trash, the tragedy is that even the trash looks similar across the board.
