Actresses who fell flat on their faces in trying to emulate their siblings!

Now there is no set recipe for stardom. Wish all our acting aspirants would have realised this very simple fact.

There have been actresses, who have been inspired to go for the whole stardom thing looking at the glitz and glamour closer home. But call it destiny or lack of star qualities they only ended up in mediocrity. Most of them are still stuck in the rut, with little hope of any miracle happening.


Malaika Arora Khan and Amrita Arora

Malaika became famous for her item song Chaiya Chaiya with Shah Rukh Khan in 'Dil Se' and then went on to do a music album for Subha Mudgal. This and her other item numbers and anchoring jobs pushed her to the big league. She is married to Arbaaz Khan and is now considered the sexy and stylish 'bahu' of the Khan 'daan'!

On the other hand sister Amrita is still struggling to make a mark. 'Kitne Door Kitne Paas' which was meant to make a leading lady out of her was a disaster. Then she tried to do the whole sexy act with skimpy clothes, pout and all, but that too was laughed at as being ' wannabe sexy'. She has befriended Kareena Kapoor as the struggle for her still goes on!

Esha Deol and Ahana Deol

While Esha comes from the esteemed Deol family, she has not really attained stardom. Esha is not in the big league and her family name and pushy mom Hema's efforts too have gone almost in vain! Younger sister Ahana has been waiting to make her debut as a director. One just keeps hearing about this Deol chick's directorial dreams on and off, but something concrete is yet to happen. Wonder if things change if dad Dharmendra and bros Sunny and Bobby step in!


Shilpa Shetty and Shamita Shetty

Shilpa was an awkward ugly duckling when she made her debut with 'Baazigar' opposite Shah Rukh Khan. The film being a hit gave Shilpa some stardom and attention. She went on to star with Akshay Kumar with whom she formed a hit pair and also dated in real life. Sis Shamita got a big big break with Yashraj's 'Mohabbatein' which went on to became a decent hit but that was about it. She couldn't make a mark and she is still known as Shilpa Shetty's younger sister. The un lady like antics in public have given her nothing more than two seconds of limelight hogging and a bad name!

Twinkle and Rinkie Khanna

Having great genes don't always help. Same goes for Twinkle and Rinkie Khanna too. In spite of a good debut with Barsaat, Twinkle was always placed in the non starry league. Marriage to Akshay Kumar changed a few things and gave her fame for being Macho man's wife. And at last something worked on the career front as well in the form of her Interior Decoration business. Rinkie married an entrepreneur after starring in some sidey movies and is happily playing housewife. Sure, suits her personality quite well.


Kajol and Tanisha Mukerjee

The dusky and not conventionally beautiful Kajol became famous with 'Baazigar' opposite Shah Rukh Khan. She then went on to give hits after hits. She gave the biggest hit of her career 'Dilwale Dulhainya Le Jaayenge' followed by other candy floss stuff with SRK. So much so that SRK and she are still considered one of the best couples in Bollywood. Li'l sister Tanisha who made her debut with Shhh... was rejected from day one. She has very little work in hand and that too she gets using the name of her sister, bro-in-law Ajay Devgan and mom Tanuja. But starry tantrums galore, she is known for. That has spoilt her case even further!

Farah and Tabu

Farah could not become a star in spite of having a promising career. Matrimony interested her more, that too with the lesser known Vindoo (Dara Singh's son). That ended in divorce but by then she was too old to make a comeback. Tabu ended up as a critically acclaimed actress. 'Chandi Bar', 'The Name Sake' and so on, have helped her to carve a niche for herself.


Karisma Kapoor and Kareena Kapoor

Though both made a mark for themselves in their own way, it is Kareena who is considered more successful than Karisma. Karisma made her debut in the nineties and became a well known actress with a few hits in her kitty. But it's Kareena who is considered the bigger star. 'Jab we met', all the big endorsements, her new bod and new love Saif has made things better for her! She is now piping hot and is said to be charging as much as Rs 6 crores per movie. On the other hand Karisma is desperate to make her come back and taking up work at very low rates! A few tips from l'il sis could surely help her case!

well i dont find that article accurate at all its more viewpoint eshas done ok and yet long way to go her sister wanting to be a director is a completly different thing also hemas not pushy they decided themselves..karishma and kareena i feel are both as sucessful as each other just that karishma left abit to early i felt but i am sure she will be to prove herself

yeah i dont really agree with kareena and karisma bit. karisma was very successful when she was acting....i dont think that pair should've been on there at all. neither should've esha and ahana.

karishma was pretty successful...i remember wen her marriage talks with abhishek were going on, everyone was like she's making a mistake, she's such a huge star and he's a flop newcomer...wasnt this one of the reasons babita didnt want lolo to marry abhi?? loll sure she's married now and stopped coming in movies...but she was a pretty big name...

Karishma and Kareena?? well Karishma was a huge name in the 90's and agreed that Kareena is more successful than her but both sister have done equally well and dont deserve to be on the "lame" sister list 😕 😕

ok bad artical i disagree with Karishma and Kareena one, Karshima has so many good movies and she is a wonderful actress i consider her better then kareena and she said in a interview "im not planning on films right now" so can she desperate for work and kareena really only has one hit😕

Fhara is a great director and Tabu is a great actress how do u consider that lame

I also think that the Kapoor sisters shouldn't have been on the list. They are both successful. I guess the author is measuring success from his or her own point of view.
