Kids love to fiddle with new things and they especially get curious when they see adults wearing something they haven’t seen before… which can be a LOT of things smiley36

My niece has the same habit, she’s turning 5 on 1st Feb and the moment she sees me wearing some pendant or necklace or something that’s got fancy buttons she practically climbs into my lap and starts playing with it and asking questions about it she’s done it ever since she could sit in my lap… now she simply manages to ask about a dozen questions about those things smiley36

Advance birthday wishes for your niece! I hope she has a lovely day and may all her dreams come true! 🤍

I’ve noticed when it comes to Jyotish, when people share their experiences, they’re mostly negative and there’s already this preconceived notion that people have in their heads thanks to movies, shows and other people who have had bad experiences.

The ones like you are rarely brave enough to come forward with their positive experiences because they feel like they might be made fun of or ridiculed; or because they’d rather keep things to themselves or whatever.

But I do believe people shouldn’t dismiss a subject just because they don’t understand it or because movies/shows tell you to do so.

The issue is that when people go to these Pandits or Jyotishis they go with an attitude of this is too complicated for me to know, let alone comprehend enough of the basics that I might at least give it a rudimentary look.

People need to approach the subject in a clinical manner, like one would with a doctor or lawyer; don’t just consult one. Do your own research on what you want to know about as much as you can. Nowadays you can learn even via YouTube videos so much. You don’t buy expensive material or enrol in courses that you don’t need/want either.

But at least have some foundational knowledge of the subject to ask better questions, to grasp if you have met a true expert in the subject or a fraud. A genuine expert will know how to answer your questions and if asked respectfully will not mind your questions asked with your basic understanding of the subject matter. Rather they can get more specific, technical and explain you things better.

I believe in Kerala they practice a branch of Jyotish called Nadi Jyotish if memory serves me right. It’s one of the oldest surviving school of a traditional Indian ancient subject still practiced today. It’s believed to be very accurate and a very learned scholar of the field can give you even exact time frames for events that you might want to know about.

I am glad that you had such a positive experience with this subject and that you have such lovely uncle and aunt who would first of all share with your mum they found such a scholar and then treat you like a child of theirs too to even bother asking questions for your life and future. I know many who wouldn’t share even that they had learnt of such a scholar let alone that they were going to visit him; the question of them bothering to take someone else’s chart/s and ask questions on their behalf even if the querent is willing to pay their share of the fees is not even worth considering.

My father used to tell me about this Nadi Jyotish. Nadi as in pulse in Tamil/Malayalam. He said they predicted his time of birth, to the exact minute and day, his star, even the accidents he might face. And so far it has mostly come true!

Yes. It wasn’t as known in North India before. But thanks to YouTube I found out about it a couple of years ago and have been very intrigued and impressed. There are so many videos on YouTube on the subject that you will never run out of material. Sadly since I don’t understand Tamil and Malayalam I end up watching videos of the same in English and Hindi. Else I would watch those videos too as these people would have a far better grasp of the subject since they know the language too.

I know subtitles exist but YouTube generated subtitles are more headache inducing than helpful.

Absolutely. This is such a magical experience!

Mine was asleep when I met her for the first time but you know what, something happened that just made me gasp and fall head over heels for her.

I sat on the bed because nerves… duh

My brother picked her up and placed on my lap and I caressed her cheek very gently and she smiled! She smiled in her sleep and as I started talking to her, her smile grew wider!

And I was in love!

Pro-tip - talk to her normally. She’s going to pick up sounds soon and will start talking as soon as she’s old enough and be as fluent as possible. Don’t use those gibberish sounds. Talk to her with normal words even if you drop or exaggerate your pitch to soothe or entertain her.

The real fun begins when they start talking!

It is mind blowing, truly! They can predict the age as to when you will get married, how many kids you might have, even your education ( as in if you would continue your studies further).

My mom used to tell me that a particular line in our hand meant that the person would pursue higher education.

Also, If you’d like the translation of any of the videos, do let me know. I can help! I know Tamil and a bit of Malayalam as well.

Ahh! smiley42

I experienced this with my sister so I can totally relate to the magical experience of holding a baby in your hands and falling in love with them, head over heels! smiley27

I spoilt her by carrying her around, much to my mamma’s chagrin. smiley37
