Age gap is an icky thing I won’t deny that but at least if adults are involved and there’s no grooming I don’t care. Just keep kids out of this whole thing irrespective of genders.

Kyunki has this slot because originally they went for this one as well. OG Kyunki dealt with topics like child out of wedlock (Suhasi) and they originally planned to show widow remarriage and how life can change post that as well as all the things you need to adapt to courtesy of that with Tulsi. Remember the idea was to kill Mihir within a couple of months and then get a newly widowed single mother remarried to another man. They changed the outcome but hastened to show the intended original idea by getting Tulsi Anupam to that marriage mandap.

I am sure they went for this late night slot originally because they wanted to show how intimacy was going to be a challenge for Tulsi with a new man and as a new mother more importantly. How Anupam was also going to have to adjust his expectations from his bride given he’s not just married a young woman but a widowed mother of a newborn/infant.

They couldn’t keep their original idea on the show owing to public demand for Mihir but then explored the benefits of the slot by making sure they could air tracks about topics that were taboo and wouldn’t be seen on prime time TV especially back then when most families had a single TV that everyone would watch while having dinner.

The fact that they’re now making Tulsi be like her OG self has revived people’s interests. If they can keep the drama up and entertaining they can easily maintain the lead. The show’s momentum has finally caught up. Now it’s their job to keep it going.

Kuch Toh Log Kahenge. It was an adaption of a Pakistani show.

It’s not so much the age gap as it is the people involved. With kids and barely-there adults, it feels gross.

It was personally objectionable to me because the girl in question is 18 years old. She’s barely an adult. If she were, say, 24 or older, maybe it would have been more acceptable, because at least she would be capable of deciding what’s good for her.
