No wonder Sunny Deol was jealous from SRK!!! - Page 2

It's not a "big deal"... I just wondered because Sunny got on the first page because of Border 2... otherwise, it didn't make sense to me to bring this 'old thing'

Exactly, they a r e n' t... except for Sunny as the hero (Darr) and main actor (Border 2)... So, if there is a desire to get comments on the Darr thing, it is easy to find them in threads listed here (with "Darr Sunny Deol") :

Sunny was really bad in Darr. It showed how 80s-style was out of date by the 90s and why Sunny's stardom faded after that, outside of occasional hits like Jeet, Border and Gadar. Bulandi is the definition of an 80s style movie which was out of date, particularly since it came out in 2000.

Damini, Ghatak, Arjun Pandit, Ziddi, Indian etc. His stardom never faded, Action just went out of Vogue. Now that it's back, so is he.

As for Darr, the negative character always walks with all the praise. Just how it works. No different than what's happening with Akshaye and Dhurandhar or Shahid & Padmaavat or Kareena & Aitraaz or Akshay & Dhadkan etc etc etc.

But the box office Success was because of Sunny's stardom. Anjaam, a similar film, bombed badly right after. Besides even SRK has said Darr is Sunny's film and he only has 18 scenes in it.

It's sad that Sunny still has grudges against SRK for overshadowing him in Darr even after 30 years. Its not the actors fault, he should have complained this to his director Yash Chopra. Sunny's character in that movie was developed and was weak. There's a scene where Sunny calls him to the jungle and Shahrukh stabs him, a short guy can stab a navy officer? That made Sunny's character look weak. Romance with Juhi didn't help as Sunny isn't that great at romance. But sabka naseeb hota hai & some roles are meant to make some actors shine. Sunny had a supporting role in Damini but he got more popularity & his dialogues became iconic, coz uske role main dum tha, Darr main SRK ke role main dum tha.

Thats the exact scene Sunny apparently had a problem with and tried to fight it out with Yash Chopra but Yash Chopra wouldn't have any of it...Sunny apparently wasnt convinced at all that an officer would look good getting stabbed by a rookie hooligan....Even the songs that were given to Shahrukh were not in the initial script given to Sunny...Yash Chopra fell in love with Sharukh and kept on adding scenes and songs for him...He practically made a joke out of Sunny and SRK fans without understanding the fraud that happened with Sunny, keep making fun of him. If you google you will find many articles of him explaining about his conflict with the director...

About Daamini, recently Meenakshi Seshadri was reminiscing how Sunny came in the second half and walked away with the movie which is unfair of the director because that 'taareekh pe taareekh' dialogue should've been given to her because it was her character's fight and the limelight should have been on her character to bring in more focus to the central conflict of the movie....The directors mindlessly do things in pursuit of their own personal satisfaction and actors do get impacted in the bargain.
