Yet another movie normalizing toxic love? At this point, it’s become a brand, like Vanga’s movies. At least with Vanga, we know the so-called 'alpha' heroes are undeniable red flags. Anand L. Rai, on the other hand, manages to package obsession/stalkerism as love, and it feels scary.

I miss the simplicity & simple stories of his tanu weds manu franschise

SRK literally ended Rai's career, luckily Dhanush saved him from retirement.

Atrangi re wasn't a toxic story and about Dhanush, Rai loves working with him, no harm there.

Tere Ishq Mei was toxic and both leads were toxic and were made to suffer, I didn't see anything about glorification.

But Zero story was Anand L Rai s I think.

In Rai movies, both characters suffer with guilt, either die or is alone at the end as a consequence of their obsession in love, in Vanga movies the leads like Kabir and Ranvijay got happy endings with money, how's that even debatable here.

Glorification is when Kundan zoya or Shankar Mukti would have happy lives and end up having a happy future, none happened there, and both Kundan and Shankar had guilt tripped phases and suffered in guilt and shame whereas Vanga can never imagine his men feeling ashamed of their behavior.

Story isn't a problem if it's a SRK Anushka and Katrina Lee movie. I'm sure same story with other less interventionist actors would have worked with a lesser budget.

Rai's only disaster movie came with SRK
