For karan no one was more important in his life than nandini and tulsi . He was only attached to bhoomi because she was a part of nandini. Even nandini confessed to her crime and revealed tanya's pregnancy to virani's karan felt no excitement or joy .
I have said this repeatedly, he didn't given time to his children in my view this was karan"s main mistake. Karan wants manthan to be a nice human being that's why whenever manthan does something wrong karan scolds him . Whenever manthan disrespected baa karan would scold him in an attempt to correct his behaviour, but tanya would always step in to support and take manthan's side in such a situation, a child is bound to become spoiled.
Tanya spent the maximum time with the children, karan was hardly at home . So if karan had spent more time with manthan and bhoomi, they would have adopted his good values instead of tanya's.
Because of karan's emotional state it's all because of nandini and tulsi missing because he loves nandini more than himself and for him tulsi is his God he couldn't pass his good values to the children, so his only reaction to their mistake was anger .
It's shown mandira has acted mentally sick in all her life to instigate karan against mihir and encouraging him to take her revenge.
@red I know that, and that's exactly where he became a bad father what I have been saying. Each relation in your life is important, you have to compartmentalize. If you can't nurture your children then don't have them. (That's no excuse that it was just one night or so. Your actions caused you to have children you are no longer allowed to excuse yourself from the responsibility period.)
@bold that's what I am saying this wasn't "a mistake", mistakes are minor, this was him not fulfilling his duties, this was kind of a sin, which might have destroyed the life of two individuals forever (had Tulsi and later Nandani not returned to correct them)
You need to understand the difference, I never said that he should have given time to Tanya, because he never committed anything to Tanya and was clear since start that it is an arrangement/substitution for children to have a mother. And Tanya willingly as an adult agreed to it. Post that her expecting anything from this marriage was her problem.
But it's a completely different case when it comes to children. Both the children came to this world because of his actions. Manthan because of his ONS, and Bhoomi because he insisted Nandani to not have an abortion with a commitment that he would the father and give this child everything . The children didn't have any say in them coming onto this earth. It was because of Karan's actions. Now once that has happened you are responsible for your actions. The children are completely dependent on you. They are your responsibility. You can't ignore that thereby leading to destruction of their lives and say it was "a mistake"
Yes his intentions were never bad about his children and that's why he scolded Manthan when he disrespected Ba, but children aren't raised by "intentions" they are raised by actions and years of it. Just scolding an adult child in front of everyone is never a way to inculcate sanskaar in your children. If anything it will only lead the child further haywire. Even if you have to scold, when you first time see your child doing wrong. You have to reach out to him/her after things have calmed down. Explain him/her the things. Tell him/her than you are always there with them, but for that they have to ensure that they too don't do anything bad.
In this particular case, Karan's behaviour was as wrong as Tanya's
And about spending more time, it's never about spending more time, it's about spending quality time. If he had spent even a small time with the children but kept an eye on how Tanya was raising them, that would have been sufficient. Aside if the children weren't being raised well, then he needed to spend more time with them.
On Mandira's case, she just acted mentally unstable and as a victim. She never told anything wrong about anyone (including Mihir) to him. The anger/revenge of Karan was the result of his understanding of the situation. Not Mandira verbally force feeding hatred into him
