There was no conscious “extra love to compensate” angle there. In Season 2, I don’t think even Mihir had any such thoughts that he needed to love Pari more so that she wouldn’t feel adopted. If that were the case, he would have shown the same level of obsession with Ritik or Angad as well. Mihir was never particularly obsessed with them, and he wasn’t even this emotionally intense with Shobha, despite her being his daughter. Yet with Pari, his behaviour was completely different. Why the makers chose to portray Mihir this way only with Pari is something only they can explain. Of course, after the leap, he has stopped caring about anyone altogether - so his great love/obsession/andha pyar for pappa ki Pari has conveniently met its expiry date I guess.

Karan initially was angry at Bhoomi because it was her birth which caused Nandani to go into coma. Later it was the innocence of Bhoomi that he started liking her.

But even that doesn't explain why he loved Bhoomi more than his own son..

As Tulsi and Nandani left, he started pampering Bhoomi but never did the correct parenting. It wasn't ever about caring for her more as she was adopted, but like because she was the only physical rememberance of Nandani with him...

Once she was back, he didn't even care much about Parth despite him being his son by Nandani

About Mihir apparently he had told this that he feared Pari would feel insecure being adopted so he unknowingly cared extra for her

In S1, as I said earlier, Anupam did more for Karan as his mama than Karan did did for his children as their dad.

Timelines hurt my head.

This is like MCU but without superheroes, without anyone comparable to Thanos. Just with all the unasked for migraines and long list of characters that seemingly never ends.

My guess is he loved her more for 2 reasons - his guilt of ignoring her initially that nagged his conscience and because via her he was holding onto a part of Nandini and could love her openly without any problems or obstacles or anyone intervening in between them.

She was the one person who could make him feel close to Nandini while Nandini herself was not in his life. So he never quite figured out how to parent her as he entrusted that entirely to Tanya without understanding that his pampering was not helping Bhoomi become a good person or a responsible person in any manner. He never stepped into discipline her like a father should but was there to fulfil her demands and wishes like some kind of a genie/ATM.

In that way Mihir and Karan were similar. They thought loving their daughters was their only job and that made them blind to their faults while they failed to be disciplinarians as parents ought to be towards their children regardless of their gender.

Last i remember kn goes to find parth, there is a nurse they suspect took the child away

Nandini was very hyper shouting on the nurse and had a breakdown. She fainted I guess. Doctor was like she's taking too much stress so karan made her promise not to pursue this truth

After that karan suspects nandini and is a bit rude /hyper on her movement, bhoomi is like wtf dad so he spills the truth that he thinks N personally trying to find parth

Waise mihir obsessing over pari can be blamed on how little he trusted tulsi over pari, so he probably thought he's the only one caring for pari and she also acted very well that she loves him so much - pari probably did. But she's also manipulating him

I never felt karan loved bhoomi over manthan. Bhoomi was dads princess, she had the right to question karan because karan won't give manthan that right i felt. Also like others said he probably had that guilt he ignored her after her birth

After that I feel he ignored both the kids. No discrimination there 🤣 that's how both kids were close to tanya and manthan went a bit crazy
