Dhurandhar closes in on Jawan's worldwide mark with a steady double digit run in fourth week

The spy action spectacle Dhurandhar has enjoyed an unusually long victory lap at the ticket window. Nearly a month after release, the Aditya Dhar film continues to draw crowds across the country, even as its daily earnings begin to show a natural slowdown. The fall is modest rather than alarming, suggesting that audience interest has softened but not vanished. For a mainstream Hindi release, this kind of sustained pull well into its fourth week is rare territory.

After storming past multiple milestones with ease, the film has now entered a phase where numbers are stabilising instead of surging. Recent daily collections have slipped into a lower bracket, yet the consistency remains striking. According to Sacnilk, the film added Rs 11.25 crore on day 26, pushing its domestic tally to Rs 712.5 crore. While the pace has eased, the scale of earnings at this stage would be considered impressive even during opening weeks for most releases.

A rare fourth week hold for a Hindi release

What makes Dhurandhar’s current run stand out is not just the total it has amassed but the manner in which it has done so. Even on weekdays of its fourth week, the film is still generating figures that hover between Rs 10 and 15 crore. This level of weekday business is usually associated with fresh releases or major holiday periods. For a film already nearing a month in theatres, it reflects strong word of mouth and repeat value.

Domestically, the film has already crossed the Rs 700 crore mark, while its global earnings have moved beyond Rs 1100 crore. These numbers place it in a very exclusive club, especially given that it achieved this without the advantage of multiple language versions or support from markets like China or the Middle East. Among Indian films released in a single language, Dhurandhar now stands alone in crossing the Rs 1000 crore global milestone.

Chasing records while rewriting the rulebook

With its current trajectory, the film is expected to rewrite Bollywood box office history in the coming days. By the next weekend, it is likely to overtake Shah Rukh Khan’s Jawan, which finished its worldwide run at Rs 1160 crore across all versions. If that happens, Dhurandhar will become the highest grossing Hindi film globally without relying on dubbed releases.

The larger Indian record still belongs to Aamir Khan’s Dangal, which amassed Rs 2070 crore worldwide. A major share of that total came from China, contributing more than Rs 1300 crore. In comparison, Dhurandhar’s earnings are driven primarily by domestic strength and limited overseas markets, making its achievement a different benchmark rather than a direct comparison.

Leaving major blockbusters behind

Along the way, the Ranveer Singh led film has already overtaken several recent heavyweights at the global box office. Its worldwide total has moved ahead of titles like Gadar 2 at Rs 686 crore, Stree 2 at Rs 857 crore, Chhaava at Rs 807 crore, and Pathaan at Rs 1055 crore. Each of these films enjoyed strong popularity, yet Dhurandhar has managed to surpass them within a single theatrical run.

The film’s ensemble also deserves mention for supporting its long run. Arjun Rampal, Sara Arjun, Sanjay Dutt, R Madhavan and Akshaye Khanna bring varied appeal that stretches beyond opening weekend curiosity. Backed by Aditya Dhar’s controlled direction, the narrative found favour with both mass audiences and urban centres. That balance has helped the film avoid a sharp drop, allowing it to age steadily in theatres rather than collapse after initial excitement. This steady rhythm has become the defining feature of its journey theatrically.

The next target in hand, apart from the toppling of Jawan at the worldwide box office is clear - beating Pushpa 2: The Rule's domestic Hindi collection which does seem rather difficult considering it needs almost another 100-odd crores to do so, which seems really difficult but one never knows.
