IND-W vs SL-W Live Cricket Score, India Women vs Sri Lanka Women 1st T20I Today Match - Live Cricket Score, Full Scorecard Updates

Teams:

Sri Lanka Women (Playing XI): Vishmi Gunaratne, Chamari Athapaththu(c), Hasini Perera, Harshitha Samarawickrama, Nilakshi de Silva, Kaushani Nuthyangana(w), Kavisha Dilhari, Malki Madara, Inoka Ranaweera, Kawya Kavindi, Shashini Gimhani

India Women (Playing XI): Smriti Mandhana, Shafali Verma, Jemimah Rodrigues, Harmanpreet Kaur(c), Richa Ghosh(w), Deepti Sharma, Amanjot Kaur, Arundhati Reddy, Vaishnavi Sharma, Kranti Gaud, Shree Charani

Chamari Athapaththu: We had a good preparation and i hope we can play our best cricket today. Lot of youngsters coming in. We have a good team. So, we stick with our plans. That's the most important thing. Gimhani is a 17-year-old girl. So, I hope she will play her best cricket today.

Harmanpreet Kaur: We want to bowl. Dew will be factor here and secondly, we are playing with 3 pacers. So, let's see how they are going to use these conditions. Today we have one debutant, Vaishnavi, playing her first game today. And apart from that, I think all old players are there. Everything is going well. It's a new series for us. A new format. And hopefully we'll enjoy ourselves here. We always talk about playing a fearless cricket. And that is something we put a lot of energy into. And today is something we really want to do. Whatever we are doing, we want to do it with a fearlessness.

India vs Sri Lanka Highlights, ICC Women's World Cup 2025: All-Round Deepti Sharma Shines As India Beat SL By 59 Runs In Opener | Cricket News

India Women have won the toss and have opted to field.

Pitch report: Dimensions - 59 metres on one side and 50 metres on the other side. Straight down the ground it is 68 metres. Looks like a nicely rolled surface. Expect a high scoring encounter and dew will certainly play its part later in the day - with inputs from WV Raman and Anjum Chopra.

Arundhati Reddy to Nilakshi de Silva, out Nilakshi de Silva Run Out!! 1 run completed. comes down the track and forces the full delivery to the left of long-off. A better throw at the batting end would have been interesting, not to be. Nilakshi de Silva put in a full length dive and that evetually saved her? Oh hang on! This has been sent upstairs. The telly umpire wants to be sure that Nilakshi had grounded her bat. She has asked for the split screen and a zoomer to check if some part of the bat got grounded inside the crease. The bat popped up in the air for a fleeting moment, and looks like some part of the bat was grounded when the bails lit up or was it? The telly umpire feels that the bat wasn't grounded Nilakshi de Silva run out (Amanjot Kaur/Richa Ghosh) 8(8)

Arundhati Reddy to Nilakshi de Silva, THATS OUT!! Run Out!!

Jemimah attempted six cut shots against the pace/spin and scored 16 runs (SR: 266.7) with the help of four boundaries.

Jemimah Rodrigues today

vs pace: 17 off 13, two fours, SR: 130.76

vs spin: 52 off 31, eight fours, SR: 167.74

Rodrigues scored 45 runs (20 balls, SR: 225.0) on the off side and just 23 runs (20 balls, SR: 115.0) towards the on side today.

Jemimah Rodrigues’s innings (by footwork)

Back foot: 31(15), SR: 206.66

Front foot: 34(26), SR: 130.76

Down the track: 2(1), SR: 200.0

Backs away: 2(2), SR: 100.0

This is the first time that India Women has registered 50-plus stands for the 2nd and 3rd wickets in a Women's T20I innings.

22:01 Local Time, 16:31 GMT, 22:01 IST: A comprehensive win this for India. The bowlers did the job and then the batters had it easy. Smriti played a few lovely shots but Rodrigues stole the show with her deft glides and innovation. Sri Lanka were never in the game with the ball and the chinaman of Gimhani was taken for plenty. The dew didn't make their task any easier but there was hardly any firepower in their bowling and that should worry them for the rest of the series. India with an easy win as they go 1-0 up.
