This is a Ranveer's movie...I don't know why other actors' PR are trying too hard, saying it's because of them the movie become a hit. The truth is, who could've played Hamza like him?? I can see no other actor

Essentially there have been attempts to make it seem like this is another Russia v/s Ukraine situation and of course, we know how since the beginning of this conflict what brush is used to paint Russia by the media.

The reality is messy and not as clear as it’s being presented in an attempt to influence opinions. The buildup to this war has also been decades in the making and it’s not a spur of the moment escalation.

The case is similar here except with a different history that has its parallels in some respects; like Ukraine being once a part of the USSR, the largest part of which is now Russia. Pakistan and Bangladesh were once a part of India as well….

Different roads, similar journeys in a way I suppose.

As for common people of that country, at one point I did believe that as well, but over the past two years watched countless reaction videos of those very ordinary people on YouTube thanks to their own influencers making videos at any given opportunity regarding India be it when we reached Moon, launched a new train Vande Bharat, had an Apple Store open here or when our PM travelled abroad and was honoured by the highest civilian award of the visiting nation.

They could appreciate our success, could even express admiration, jealousy and even admit to feeling bad regarding the state of their own nation in comparison. There were a few who even admitted to having visited India either once or repeatedly, and while they had only good things to say; they were outnumbered by an exceptionally huge margin in comparison to those who openly expressed their hate for us and not just because they know that we have fought 4 wars in the past, all of which they’ve lost; but for our identity, our religious beliefs as Hindus, for the fact that we are not allowing them to slaughter cows as freely as they wish and have made it a crime legally. Though cow slaughter is not required for any other reason besides the fact that we Hindus consider cows sacred. There is not even any attempt to understand the concept behind that reverence but rather they mock and insult us by using dirty slurs.

We don’t consider a cow sacred simply because our ancestors said so, because of some scriptures but it’s rooted in logic. Cow milk is the first substance that replaces a mother’s breast milk for a child - reason being its nourishing while also being light on the stomachs of babies whose digestive systems cannot handle complex foods yet. In cases where mothers run out of milk early, this was the only thing they could feed their child for however long it took. There was no concept of formulas until very recently thanks to modern science. Milk from cows is also used for curd, ghee, buttermilk etc. for our own consumption. Cow milk is still used for poojas and Abhisheks. Manure was used to produce dung cakes which was used for cooking, keeping homes cool in summers that were made from materials that existed prior to the modern bricks, cement and mortar. Cow dung also worked as fertiliser in fields. People who reared cows would support their entire family based on the milk and byproducts they could sell obtained from those cows. Cows were therefore equated with mothers as a sign of ultimate respect for them and all they made possible for us and provided us with and is therefore not some silly superstition of ignorant people.

They’re not stopped from consuming any other animal be it a goat or a sheep or whatever but they’re obsessed with killing an eating cows, only because we Hindus still afford them the same respect as our ancestors did and technically so did theirs before they converted for whatever reasons.

IMO, the true reason for Pakistan’s hate for us isn’t even religious, economic or any recent historical differences between us owing to a certain geographical location. The true reason lies in history predating centuries. It’s because they know their past and refuse to accept it as they know to do so would mean accepting the weaknesses, cowardice or worse, brutal torture subjugation, assaults of their ancestors who gave up their identities to survive.

While they succumbed, we refused to do so and so, we still stand where we were, as who we were and they hate us for that perhaps more than anything.

Our existence is not a reflection of their recent failures but of the failures of their ancestors which they refuse to accept and are too pathetic to rectify.

To provide evidence for this hatred look no further than google searches of blasphemy laws of that country and how they’ve been used against Hindus, Sikhs and Christians who have not fled that country. Google the history of underage girls being kidnapped and forced to convert. Look up who is Mian Mithu and read how operates in Sindh, still the area with what remains as the largest surviving Hindu community in that country. He’s responsible for countless underage girls being kidnapped, converted and then sold into sexual slavery abroad and even within the country in the name of marriage to men old enough to be their fathers and grandfathers. He’s also a politician who has been elected to their national assembly as they call their parliament.

Our hate for that country and its people is not a product of some political party’s ideology or propaganda influencing us. It is their very actions and their consistent attempts to erase our existence that has led us here.

So if in a year or two or three from now we go to war with that country again, or even before that and destroy whatever is left of it - it would still be too little and too late. Also, it would absolutely have no impact of guilt or shame for any Indian who loves their country and hoped we had done this to them a lot sooner but are simply grateful that we see it happening in our lifetimes as it’s better late than never.

💯

Dhurandhar, the film that has taken over the country. The box office annihilated, from small towns to Overseas, from SM trolls to the biggest critics, Everyone agrees- It's the best thing since sliced bread. I just had to see for myself and so we dragged our Ass to the Movie theatre with huge expectations.

The film is based on a Mole inflitritating a Karachi based gang and through it the Complex network of Gangsters, Politicians, ISI & Terror Organizations. Dhar builds a credible world, the attention to detail top notch but it's nothing you haven't seen before. Dhar is heavily "Inspired" by Hollywood on this one borrowing from The Departed, Donnie Brasco, The Sopranos among other Mole/Gang Inflitriation films. Closer to home, Dhar heavily borrows from RGVs Mumbai Underworld films like Satya & Company. Infact, the film could've easily been a Mumbai gang but Dhar wanted to add that Nationalist touch it seems like. Modern storytelling techniques like parallel storylines, flashbacks, Shock Value, well placed Character introductions are all used to keep the viewer immersed in a rather long film. Technically brilliant, the BGM is Outstanding, the Camera work excellent, the editing crisp. It reminds one of technically brilliant films like Zero Dark Thirty, another inspiration of Dhar clearly.

Performance wise this is an out and out Ranveer film. He carries the film from start to finish. I'm not sure what this SM craze of Akshaye Khanna is all about tbh. He's always been a brilliant actor but he's been doing "The downward gaze, lip biting, deep voice" act for over 15 years now. Is Twitter just waking up? Other than the climax, Akshaye doesn't have much to do in the film. Madhavan looks the part, Arjun is slimy as hell, Dutt is Dutt, Rajat Bedi is a riot but the star among the supporting cast is Sara Arjun. What a debut!!! There's a scene in the film where Ranveer tries to scare her. She calmly kisses his forehead and tells him that she'll burn him alive in his sleep if he ever does that again. Behind that sweet exterior lies a bigger psychopath than all the men combined. I hope they develop this character further. The pre-climax/climax is the weakest part of the film. You just want the film to end at that point.

Overall, everything social media told me was a lie. Dhar is technically brilliant but like Sanjay Gupta before him his work is heavily "Inspired" with bits and pieces taken from here and there. The Indian audience have probably not seen those films but the fact still stands. There's little to no propaganda and even when there is, its subtle. It is in no way Akshaye Khanna's film. Out and out a Ranveer Singh film, his restrained performance is one of the highlights.

I couldn't watch it again but its an engaging one time watch. Watch it for Ranveer, Sara & the technical team. 3.5/5

I agree with him, Ranveer just needs to be smart and select his films wisely. Rest his acting talent will elevate each film and make it a success. Also Ranveer needs to stay low key and restrict public appearances. Let people see him on the big screen, let them miss him. Also reduce doing wacky ads. I know this is a big ask for him but if he does all this there is no stopping him!!!
