Haha, IKR. He’s a good actor and quite handsome but my god, he’s never looked hotter than he does in this movie. Something about that hair and the hulked out physique really makes him irresistible. You understand why she was checking him out from the first time she sets her eyes on him smiley36

There have been Beauty and Beast edits on them on Twitter and they can pull it off! 😆

I would understand if the people were offended by the age gap if they had shot some raunchy scenes between them but there’s not one scene that makes you feel uncomfortable when you look at them together. Not even when he’s shown sneaking into her bedroom!

Their chemistry is all about them looking at each other like they’re the only two people in the world and I love that! It is so old school and that’s why it’s so romantic. Their attraction feels raw and real rather than something cringe and gross.

I also love how they shot the introduction scene of Sara in the movie. Hamza is dressed in that maroon kurta and she’s shown shielded by that thin maroon curtain. Dhar really did good there.

Then there’s this scene where he’s being teased by Uzair about dating Yalina in a typical bros bonding moment. You notice Rehman ask as a typical older brother if it’s ishq or aiyyashi; and he shyly smiles and replies ishq… really what’s not to love about them?!

Oh they already do? sucks that I am not the unique creative genius who thought of that analogy….😆😅

Exactly, what’s not to love about them….And I look in horror at those who complain about keeping this love track and ‘diluting’ the story…Remove the girl and that Gehra Hua song, and you have half the female audience disappearing…😆

Btw, that ‘Ishq’ I am afraid he meant it for his country…I didn’t catch on the first time but by the third watch I was sure he didn’t mean it for the girl….:(

Maybe, he did (also)... ishq...

As the meaning is intense, passionate or overwhelming love, it can encompass a lot, I feel... a passionate and a spiritual fire... Jaskirat has a lot of fire in him...

Imo, the protagonist has a very protecting and caring side in himself which he now can show and live... and with a father like Rehman, Yalina may easily fall for someone with an equally strong will power and a certain softness for the women they love.

Nevertheless, I also feel that in such an environment, their love story is dhoomed... Yalina will be the only person with whom one can hurt Jaskirat to the core (especially when carrying their child) ... and with Iqbal, he certainly will have the most merciless enemy.

We see Hamza hallucinate about Rehman at the end with Asato Ma Sadgamaya for a reason. It’s a shlok from the Brihadaranyaka Upanishad especially when you focus on it’s meaning.

Lead me from the unreal to the real,

lead me from darkness to light,

lead me from death to immortality.”

This was his first real success as an agent, the first act of revenge/justice he delivered on behalf of his people, his motherland. He should technically be ecstatic but he can’t celebrate it, not even in private. He heads home to Yalina straight from the hospital.

The shlok acts as the perfect description for his mental state because he has to separate the real from unreal. He has to focus on the fact that Rehman was an enemy in truth, he has to overcome his mental conditioning of the past few years where he has served Rehman and in the process bonded with him. It started out as an act with rehearsed lines he was taught while training, but the respect morphed into something real over the years. He did start to see Rehman as a mentor, perhaps an older brother figure too.

So imagine how messed up his feelings have to be when it comes to Yalina. He may have set out to woo her with a goal in mind, he may have honey-trapped her for a purpose; but somewhere along the way real feelings did develop for Yalina. She became his only real constant and the only source of love; because he knows that she truly loves him.

So yes, she can definitely hurt him… and I think she’ll be his ultimate Achilles heel.

But I don’t think she’ll hurt him intentionally but he will be devastated because she will be a collateral of his reality coming to light. I think she may be killed by Iqbal played by Arjun. He will find out Hamza is a spy and get her kidnapped, torture and probably kill her to lure him out.

That’s one of my theories.

The analogy is befitting and even I didn’t think of it until I saw it and when I did, I was like; yep, that’s it.

Yalina is important not just for the songs but also for the plot. Without her, Hamza never gets that footage to rescue Rehman and cement his loyalty even further. Without her, he wouldn’t get Jamali to help him by working with Aslam to get Rehman killed under the ploy of making sure Jamali has an absolutely loyal and lethal weapon to help him secure his place and power in Lyari.

So she may not be in the scene always but she forms an important link in the plot at crucial moments when Hamza has to advance his cause. And that’s just part one! We have absolutely no clue what she does in part 2 and how it matters to the plot!

It very much resembles my impression smiley1

And I think - although it is dangerous - that it is humanly understandable to even value/like/love the forte in those you have to combat.

I sensed it in the table-turning film January 2023, where the undercurrent feelings for the respective opponent had been part of the story... here it is elevated some notches higher.

She’s his Ishq for sure… people can love in a lot of different ways after all. His love for his country however is paramount as it’s tied to a greater cause than just his personal life.

That’s where they’re gonna be compared and she will get the second spot.

Yep, it also shows a human side of what is described by Sanyal as a killing machine as at the end of the day, it’s a human infiltrator amidst the enemy camp not a machine.

It’s but natural for lines to get blurred. Besides, Jaskirat is shown as an inmate who has been recruited for this mission. I doubt he got any warmth, love etc during his training post agreeing to the assignment. We don’t know how long was he in prison for at the time of his recruitment, nor the conditions of his imprisonment. For all we know he’s been kept in a solitary confinement and has been in prison for years.

So technically, his first taste of freedom, of true human connections in whatever form were established here. Be it Alaam, be it Yalina, Rehman or Uzair.

His head has to be a mess because of his heart being at conflict between his purpose and his growing attachment with these people he’s here to eliminate.

Reminds me of a quote by William Faulkner - “The only thing worth writing about is the human heart at conflict with itself.”

Dhar certainly delivers on that theme.

Reading the first few pages of this thread, it seems that the humongous success of the movie is a tight slap on the face of many critics who had written off the moviesmiley37 Go Ranveer smiley41
