Sunjay Kapur’s sister claims Priya Sachdev is taking Rs 5 crore as salary: 'She is not the face of the family'

Mandhira Kapur, sister of late industrialist Sunjay Kapur, has responded strongly to Priya Sachdev's claims about their mother's expenses. Mandhira refuted allegations that Rani Kapur, their mother, receives over Rs 21 lakh monthly from the company, stating that Priya is actually taking home around Rs 5 crore every month. The dispute centers on company expenses and financial support for Rani Kapur, with Mandhira pushing back against Priya's claims.

Mandhira Kapur opened up about the bitter estate feud between her family and Sunjay's widow, Priya Sachdev Kapur, in a recent InControversial podcast episode. She directly addressed Priya's allegations, made during a court hearing, that their mother Rani Kapur continues to receive over Rs 21 lakh monthly from the company, with her personal expenses taken care of, just as they were during Sunjay's lifetime. Mandhira disputed these claims, stating that Priya is actually taking home a staggering Rs 5 crore every month. The siblings are embroiled in a heated dispute over the family's finances and assets, with Mandhira pushing back against Priya's allegations and painting a different picture of the family's financial situation.

There is a difference between blood and an outsider. When my father was alive, my mother was getting much more than what she did even when my brother was alive and that’s the truth. Unfortunately she never checked what she was getting… Now, we are checking on whatever is going on. It is shameful that she is only getting Rs 12 lakh. It was Rs 21 lakh but after tax and other deductions, she used to get ?13 lakh which has now dropped to Rs 12 lakh, Mandhira said.

She continued, But the outsider is getting close to I would think Rs 3 to 5 crore every month. Because she is getting Rs 1 crore from just one company and she has taken over everything. She is getting Rs 5 crore, and the creator of the company is getting Rs 12 lakh.

Hitting back at Priya, Mandhira mentions, She (Priya) is not doing any favour to anyone. It is coming from the company. She thinks she is looking after my mother? I think she needs to have a reality check and rephrase that… It (the company) is still with my mother as my father will always be associated with Sona not Sachdev's not matter how much they try and want, but that is not going to happen. She is not the face of the family or the company. She shouldn’t even be around.

Karisma Kapoor's children, Samaira and Kiaan, are currently embroiled in a legal dispute with Priya, Sunjay Kapur's third wife, over his substantial estate. The children have contested the will presented by Priya in the Delhi High Court, alleging it is fraudulent and designed to disinherit them. Court proceedings have been marked by a series of accusations exchanged between both parties involved in the case.

Sunjay Kapur, the former chairman of Sona Comstar, a prominent auto parts manufacturer, passed away in London during a polo match in June. His previous marriage to Karisma Kapoor, which lasted from 2003 to 2016, resulted in two children: Samaira, born in 2005, and Kiaan, born in 2011. Sunjay later married Priya in 2017, and they had a son named Azarias.
