Ranveer (Hamza) and Akshaye (Rehman) were fabulous both of them are so versatile. Ranveer is a chameleon in every film he transforms. It is a Ranveer film and he owned it. I would Ranveer and Akshaye a 10/10 for each of their performances.

Madhavan and Sanjay Dutt were great too

Sara looked innocent, acted well and suited the role. Both Sara (Yalina) and Rehman’s wife were shown slapping their partners on single occasions. The age gap between Ranveer and Sara is evident but she fully suited the role otherwise if they listened to IF people complaining about the age gap they could have taken Yami. Yami would be a great actor but she wouldn’t suit the role.

The action scenes were next level, one of the best I have seen in Bollywood. I prefer Dhurandhar over Uri

India vs Pakistan tension evokes emotions but is overdone in Bollywood.

The songs I liked most are the title track, gehra hua and Akshaye’s song FA9LA.

Nice to see Krystle do an item number in Bollywood

EBF192AC-C194-4582-8709-80684E972203.jpegI am looking forward to Arjun (Iqbal) vs Ranveer (Hamza) in part 2

The finger scene with Ranveer and Arjun torturing the spy was too violent. I found the other scenes were tolerable. Rehman was killing ruthlessly in some scenes

The age gap thing has been addressed by Mukesh Chhabra, the casting director of the movie. That article is on IF as well.

The age gap is intentional and we will see why that is necessary in the next one.

All are talking about how marvellous Ranveer and Akshay are but Rakesh Bedi did equally well..i have known him for srimanji srimatiji and Yes boss where he played a role very very different from this..and my respect for him as an actor rises even more after i heard him saying he added some comical elements to his dialogues even though Dhar was skeptical about it. He convinced him that audience would love it and indeed some dialogues were absolutely gem where audience in the theatre i went were clapping. I cant get over his " kaun aslam? Atif Aslam? Wo kahan gya tha?" , "samajhdar ho gya hai tu, aaja fanta pilata hun" and "ho gyi hogi galti, tujhse".😄 Everytime he said " tu to mera bachcha hai, main sab dekh lunga" to anyone who he has interest in cracked me up. A perfect politician.

And a personal experience, i have gone for rct this morning and doctor had put cotton buds in my mouth and asked me not to open my mouth. In the meanwhile she started discussing about dhurundhar with her staff and they all loved it 😀 i onviously couldnt contribute to the conversion so thought to say it here now.😃

Agree on all counts. The movie has insane rewatch value and every time you not only find another nuance but are able to doubly enjoy the scenes in anticipation, not to mention how I got better at closing my eyes before all the violent scenes because the first couple of times the cut finger smiley11 escaped my censoring….😆😅

Rakesh Bedi is definitely a revelation….I think he is the most layered character with a vast scope for performance, be it the comedy with best punch lines of all or violence or helpless parent or a slimy insecure opportunistic politician- I mean the whole buffet of emotions and expressions. And as per him, he has more to unpack in part 2….

I hated how selfish he was to get his innocent daughter married to a creepy gangster just to keep his dying political career alive….But these things have been happening since times immemorial….these power hungry crooks never hesitate to pawn their family for political gains….

He got a role of his lifetime and he is fully availing it….And in him we got an actor who can comfortably fit into the shoes of 90s wala Anupam Kher….

Rakesh Bedi and Gaurav Gera are the two surprise packages of this movie for sure. We have only ever known them to be comic reliefs so it’s such a surprise to see them play such serious roles with absolute finesse.

My favourite scene of Rakesh Ji from the movie is when he meets Hamza in his home. The change of expressions when he hears how he can control Lyari without having to rely on people who can flip on him in a dime if he gets someone else in power, someone loyal to him, someone he can call his family… oh man… you see the wheels turning in his head and that change from affronted dad to politician is such a treat to watch.

Heard his IV where he said how Aditya was asked by someone to replace him with a popular actor and Aditya stuck to his guns. So glad he did it because such veteran actors definitely deserve a chance to shine, just because they’re not big names shouldn’t mean they’re any less talented.

Wholeheartedly like the fact that (reliable) actors finally get a boost through successful movies and their(largely recognised) good performances smiley27

Edit: I also fully connect to the age-gap... logical and necessary (imo)

Picture bohot achhi hai. Awesome sound effects, mazedaar action, dhasu acting, gripping storyline. Ek deshbhakti ki bhaavna bhi jagrit karti hai. Saadhe teen ghante pakad ke rakhti hai... hil nahin paoge (unless susu lagi ho).

Ranveer ne jabardast carry kiya hai poora picture. Akshaye ne achha kaam kiya hai, lekin mere expectations kuchh zyaada hi badh gaye the (mere liye Aurangzeb ka character zyaada achhaa nibhaya tha).

Only flaw: Sara Arjun ki dialogue delivery myjhe weak lagi... Plus uske character se bilkul maza nahin aaya...

Important: (just like Animal and Stree part 1) yeh picture theater mein dekhne ka mazaa hi kuchh aur hai... toh agar kabhi dekhna ho I would strongly recommend theater mein jaake dekho.... You're welcome smiley14

People are so focused on the age gap that I hardly see people discussing the height gap. I find it to be utterly cute. When she hugs him, her head is tucked under his chin. Idk why but it’s so cute to watch the guy be a head taller than the girl smiley36

Also, she looks so petite in comparison to his hulked out physique that they do make such a good pair.

Honestly the age gap discussion here has taken me off-guard because it’s not as if it’s happening for the first time onscreen. In this case the casting director himself has confirmed that the story demanded the age gap, whereas it has happened in movies previously where there was no plot demand but they simply wanted a younger girl opposite their aging male lead to make him seem more attractive or whatever for getting this hot, young girl.

Ikr… Ranveer is a hot delicious looking guy on his own but their silhouette when they stand together hugging each other reminds me of my favorite ‘beauty and the beast’ couple….( Btw, I am one of those kids who cried when beast transforms into a handsome prince in the end…😆)

Imo, the protagonist has a very protecting and caring side in himself which he now can show and live... and with a father like Rehman, Yalina may easily fall for someone with an equally strong will power and a certain softness for the women they love.

Nevertheless, I also feel that in such an environment, their love story is dhoomed... Yalina will be the only person with whom one can hurt Jaskirat to the core (especially when carrying their child) ... and with Iqbal, he certainly will have the most merciless enemy.
