That is 100% true, but if they want to add a bit of romance in a detective show, I'm not against it. They just need to handle it well and it has to be a side story, not the main. Like 1 scene here or there. That part the PH here did well, but the romantic angle itself was bad.
Even the Abhijeet-Tarika angle wasn't handled well. I loved how they handled Abhijeet-Shruti back in the day! And then they made Abhijeet into a lovesick puppy with moon eyes and a teenage level maturity around Tarika.

They did the good ending in season one, I don't understand how shreya is still in love with Daya and a daughter with Siddharth?? She moved on with him that's why she had a daughter no?? Some stories do end without a happy ending, and they look and sound beautiful with that ending only, even though i don't like the romantic angle, i loved the separation track, the angst was so on point, like that is my one of the fav track in CID, i still go and rewatch that track, i seriously loved that ending to their track
Abhijeet and Tarika were never a couple for me (just a dose of comedy), i loved salunkhe and Abhijeet's nok-jhok in those scenes and to be honest, i watched CID for the friendship arc and not becuase of some romantic angles
