Okay (thanks for replying), I watched the movie the moment I got the possibility to do so. Yes, I always like to get to know what people think about a movie but I don't feel comfortable with reviewing a movie myself, I feel more comfortable to discuss it. My connection to a movie is such a personal thing that I don't want to give a judgement (the same for books and stories narrated). So, to me, it's easier to respond to specific plot points or similar things than giving a review.
The songs are such a thing... and with the songs always come the visuals (or the reason for the song in the story). I feel that both versions shouldn't be separated: the song wouldn't have existed in the movie without the very deeply emotional connect for the male and the female protagonist... it is what ensured the surviving of their love and the possibility to live it - in a way that people may not be able to understand but is possible as nothing is impossible when it comes to humans.
The movie is a hymn to a certain kind of love that definitely has a cosmic touch (there are a lot of movies that indicate such a connection in the title)... after having watched it, I had no difficulty to relate - also emotionally - to the reaction it got in India and overseas
We all have a 'beast' in us but we all also are given a longing in us for at least one person that just loves us the way we are - valuing all the positive 100 times more than what could be irritating as negative... the first is our part of nature, the second our connection to something beyond the physical world... it is what we live in reality and in our dreams and how we decide to deal with it that gives the directions, I think.

Everyone needs to know the right time to feed the beast

This exactly!
Faheem's rendition has that aching/yearning feeling and Shreya's version - the less said the better - it's so magical and addicting.
I absolutely love both versions.
They say one rotten apple can spoil the lot, but Saiyaara proved the opposite. In an industry saturated with remakes, safe bets, and that...

this is kind of a big deal for a movie with newcomers and no big names.

He is ugly and pretty average from all standards. Doesn’t look like a Bollywood hero material at all. I’m pretty sure he will flop within 2...
